Rheinland, you're beaten, you don't do raids behind enemy lines. Fight Hessians and Corsairs.
And people complain about the amount of useless capital ships?... what about my KuBC... I have nothing to do with it because everybody is at peace (except Togos but when was the last time you saw a Togo?)
I say, leave it as it is and use roleplay to find other conflicts. Try krieg in Kusari or even better Bretonia. Liberty is too stronk for Bierland now.
Flying some extra minutes to jump hole instead to jumpgate isn't problem for me, but for many, many others. Waiting two hours in fron of planet Hamburg and keep inviting RNCs is mostly fruitless too. When I get three cruisers there, that can be called miracle. But when I bring them to Texas(burg), 5 dreads are instantly decloaking on our backs, or Liberty players are just bringing caps from NY and hugging bases, Mississipi and that prison station, which are in good position for be hugged. Many Rheinland players don't like fightings with such players.
But I see main problem in lack of roleplay possibilities for Rheinland. Lorewise, it haven't fleet comparable with LN, in numbers I mean. As Skynet said, Dresden is another case. Players wishing to conquer Texasburg left because they were allways wining the battles. But lore says that is not possible and even says, that the cowardic feared RM blew up the gates in act of desperation. Personally I would like to see outcomes of player's efforts, Texasburg included. I believe Rheinland would be very active place.. not like now.
ALG requested... that was bad idea. Rheinland as mox producer having only sellpoint at faraway forgotten Koeln.
Nerfing cruisers... Skilled cruiser captain allways destroys skilled battleship. Cruisers are meant to be capkillers, correct me if I am not right. RM cruiser is flying tank, impressive armor but sluggish turning. Bad is, opposing side (LN) is whining and requesting nerfs, instead of training to be better. I know some of the second case. Skilled Liberty gunboat can burn my cruiser easily, using agility against my slow turning.

Totally agree, this will rise activity. But then admins will force massive RM fleet to fall back using their admin guns, because lore says RM can't have their Texasburg. Then they will be leaving again, because they realise their efforts are fruitless.

Since the jumpgates were blocked, the number of raids from Rheinland have decreased. I guess that was the intention.
However, that leads to a surplus of capital ships in Liberty with nothing sensible to do. Even at the slightest chance of action happening, you'll quickly see a handful of caps dispatched. It seems like it is fairly boring to be a capital ship pilot these days, in other words. Not to mention how it can be fairly boring being a lone fighter getting chased by a small armada.
So, for the sake of activity and something meaningful to do, would it be possible to re-open the jumpgates, so the Navy can concern itself with Navy stuff once again?
It was retconned already. Have you been ingame lately? The gates are open. Unless I'm herp derping and missing the hamburg gates being blown.
As much as I agree that Liberty could go elsewhere to provoke activity, can we keep in mind that it really looks like this move was carried out with no logic at all? RP is one thing but server activity is at serious risk by compromising choke points, when RP could be taken in another direction which could retain the dwindling number of people that are active on a day-to-day basis.
How is it fun in any way to send caps through an asteroid field to a jumphole, only to jump into another field which we all know are a nightmare to navigate in Caps!? Let alone fight in them. Now we have Cap gank-squads in NY that are more annoying than ever and Rheinlands activity has been further decreased.
Same could even be said for NL-Leeds. Thank god for Magellan.
I'd also say: Repair these gates again. Also in Bretonia.
Gamplay reasons are more important than a 100 % storyline, if that gets into the way of gameplay.

Thats my suggestion. Someone round up some LOLNS, take them into kusari and provoke a war. That way Kusari lawfuls get stuff to do.
Ya'know, this would make a hell of a lot of sense actually. From the standpoint of Liberty, Kusari is allied with Gallia and could launch a full attack from the Taus (because Gallia helps them rebuild somewhat) while the GRN comes in from Dublin, using the jump holes to barrel in through like, Cambridge (there's a Camb JG in Edin AND Leeds). If Liberty launched an attack on Kusari, that cuts off one entire faction as Kusari would need to divert forces to stop the attack from Kepler/Galileo and GRN would probably send forces as well, effectively splitting their fleet up. it could go horribly wrong for Liberty if they did so, but hell.
It would be a hell of a gamble.
EDIT:
Sorry, forgot the state of it. My bad.
if GRN allied with kusari a bit and started rebuilding their fleet you -could- pull off a nice Sirius War.
