2. What exactly are you requesting? Combination of Freelancer and Pirate ID -
Spec Ops ID / Freelancer IFF
This is what I have in mind:
Quote:A pilot carrying this ID is a Special Operative who:
-Can attack any ship in self defense or to protect an allied ship.
-Can demand cargo and credits from non-allied ships, and attack them if they do not comply.
-Can fulfill any friendly/allied bounty or escort contracts, and can treat transports as combat targets when executing friendly/allied bounty/escort contracts against them.
Allowed ships: Pelican
3. Exact name, identification and affiliation of the character: Argo
Freelancer IFF
Junkers ID
4. Why is this request necessary for the continuation of this character's roleplay? I first sent an SRP request for a similar idea back in April of this year. At the time I felt that the character needed a shake up, but even I realized I could simply use a Pirate ID and Junkers IFF for what I wanted at the time (to maintain my affiliation and ability to defend junkers based on the ID R.O.E.'s, as it only lets you defend ships of the exact same affiliation). Since then I have periodically used the Pirate ID and started moving to areas I had otherwise left alone for many months. My involvement into house space made me more friends among the Junkers and I still stick close to them as I have many friends that do the scrap runs and smuggling back.
Argo (Captain Antares) started out as a pirate using Junking as a front and wound up acting as a scout/escort for Junkers who were more involved in scrap. It boiled down to him being a loner pirate outside house space, and a Junker employed freelance operative while inside house space. However after skirmishing with lawfuls over dealings with Junkers inside house space, he has become rather unliked by most lawfuls and house militaries (ship is illegal in both Bretonia and Rheinland due to cloak). Several times I would switch to pirate, and do so in house space but not officially affiliated to Junkers (FL IFF), giving up my ability to defend them, or safely use their bases. My main problem is that in using a Junkers ID, I can only engage someone to either defend Junkers or after placing a cargo/credit demand. I'd like to be able to offer defense to similarly affiliated groups as well, yet still be a pirate, acting on my own volition when doing so. I would like to keep my FL IFF since I more so consider this character a freelancer/merc/pirate who operates on his own, but does stick close to his Junker business ties and comrades. Its more so on his own preference than due to being locked into my allegiance via ID.
I feel this will solve my ID dilemmas, and that I have sufficiently built up an in game inrp reputation among unlawfuls/quasis (especially Junkers) to use as a basis to act as a literal unlawful freelance 'special operative' being able to do a variety of things for such groups.
5. What short-term and long-term goals are you planing to achieve on this character?
Well in the long term I'd like to give the character a unique stand point that will allow him to work with various unlawful and quasi lawful factions that are all within the same political range regarding their diplomacy. This aid will be to anti-Kusari/Gallia groups, and various unlawful rebel factions. I wish to be able to pirate normally as with a regular Pirate ID (typically when flying solo), yet offer escort/bounty services to the factions I am in good standing with, which are mostly the aforementioned unlawful and quasi lawfuls. I believe this would be ideal for an ID to stay with. I want the character to be linked to the Junkers in an 'under the table' way that makes me an off the books operative, and capable of spreading out to help various friends and allies as an unlawful escort and pirate for hire (freelance black operative).
On the short term I'd like to focus on opening up my dealings with other factions and try to get involved in fighting enemies (hostiles) common to Junkers via bounties and appropriate blanket bounties. The possibility of redeeming on blanket bounties as a Junker against their enemies has arisen many times recently, shifting my role from only piracy to possible bounty hunter or 'hitman'. I believe the new ID would let me do that, not just for Junkers but many other unlawful factions, and anything up to quasi/neutral groups (especially Junker allies, Freelancer groups). I also plan to expand on attempts to 'sell' intelligence via espionage. Although a new ID is not needed for that, it would fit in with the RP of a 'special operative'.
7. Provide a cliffnote/summary for the links provided above.
Most of my interactions regarding activities with allied factions, friends, escort clients and piracy. They provide some insight into my character's personality. My stories/bio thread contains most of the back story and documentation of my character's development, successes and failures.
8. How long has this character been building its backstory? Since June 2013 as a Zoner who then turned Junker, 10 months (Nov 2013) with the Pelican as 'Argo' w/ Junker ID.
9. If you feel that you would like to provide us with character references, specify whom.
How about Sunny - President of the AFC, and Eric (.:j:.Smuggler's.Dream), Steve(.:j:.Res.Nullius), Aces (.:j:.MooninitesUnite) (and the rest of the gang) from the Junkers Congress *blows party horn*. Also Freelancer captain Hermann Schultze! All of those fine chaps know how I roll!
4. Provide a cliffnote/summary of the roleplay done related to the goal(s) listed in the original request.
Antares is still doing what he knows how to do best. So far I have continued to escort all sorts of smugglers, (some indy, some official) from Zoners, Junkers, Outcasts and Freelancers, to occasional pirate patrols with random BD and Rogues. Inrp situations developed around the time the Spec Ops ID was approved, which fit in well to the roleplay. I did continue to pirate corporate ships here and there, but focused on trying to recruit Pirates for a 'black operation'. This was to turn generic pirates into 'agents' or 'goons', who's job is not to hunt and kill, but act as 'collectors' or financial messengers, who focus on pirating Antares's personal enemies. Groups known to be targeting Junkers and scrap haulers topped the list. As time goes on, and things simmer on one end, I expect other groups to wind up needing some 'financial pressure' from time to time. This was to encourage straight up piracy and offer bonuses to anyone involved. It seemed like a reasonable alternative to a blanket bounty board. Instead of operating like a faction, a 'black operation' can change purpose, place, and people involved as inrp needs dictate. My idea of being a 'special operative' is to act as someone who might go into a place and start pulling strings, throwing around money, and focusing on exploiting lawful shippers and enemies of smugglers (both myself and through these 'goons'). Ultimately I RP as an expert in subterfuge, black market dealings, and now breeding piracy against corporate targets or my personal enemies. I'm also planning for Antares to offer himself up as a moderator among unlawful factions, as a sort of 'neutral party', for resolving disputes.

Antares continues to keep up his craft and get involved in all sorts of trouble around Sirius. For the last few months he's been 'encouraging' pirates via bonuses to hit enemy organizations hard. He decided to take matters into his own hands like that, outside of Junkers jurisdiction, to have men patrol areas like the Taus in his stead, when not there himself. Not afraid to throw around cash if it means keeping the pressure on enemies of the Junkers, he's kept up his efforts while moving around pirating ships for credits and practice, when not stalking supply lines for new routes, bases and useful intelligence.
Still helping Junkers and the Congress when he can, Antares continues to try to be a step above most hired operatives and maintain himself as a valuable agent to be called upon by them, and any Junkers he meets in passing.
There are certainly a few more dangerous Pelicans out there now due to the efforts of Captain Antares, and short of forming a faction, has assembled a tight knit group of agents to help out in his 'black operations' for hire. Having formed a decent rep among the underworld, and been successful in assembling pirates to carry out his operations, his goals have been achieved. The plan is to continue on in the same way and branch out more to the unlawful side of Sirius.
