Just so you know, that guy died about 6 days ago, so he won't be walking anywhere anymore
And then the chief infectologist in my country says that we're 100% prepared for possible ebola cases. While we have precisely 1 adequate isolation room in the whole country, minus some military make-shift stuff we know nothing about.
Oh, he also said that those haz-mat suits people are sporting are overkill and that a simple mask would be sufficient to prevent an infection. I "totally" can imagine him jumping around an ebola patient wearing only rudimentary filter masks...
Thankfully I have some old Yugo gas-masks and CRBN military protection and decontamination kits. 25 years later they're in pristine condition. I know I will never need that stuff, but still. Anyone in need for some iodine? No?
I am still waiting for an explanation as to who shot down that Plane over the Ukraine....and why it was off its normal path....and Damn...right about now, we sure could use those 100 or so Experts on the Aids Virus that died on that plane....I mean granted, HIV and Ebola are different beast, but a virus is a virus....and a breakthrough treatment or therapy with one could open the way to treat other nasty things out in the world.... Sheeeeeeeeaaaaa.....Tom Clancy could not have penned it any better if this were some kinda Jack Ryan novel...Kill the Experts...Release the Virus...Wait for social meltdown and then EMP your adversary to the 1800´s........
Bah....I need to change my brand of Herb.....maybe drop my paranoia level down a few notches...
On a more positive note about (mostly) african endemic diseases, my university is currently doing clinical studies on an HIV vaccine.
Also ebola is scary, but is used to spreading in a very different climate, with winter approaching and everyone on alert about flu. colds, etc, its unlikely it'll spread. If it gets here, I'm going to Canada. I mean, if you die in Canada you don't die in real life, right?
