Peregrine, I believe that Kishiro are regarded as traitors of Kusari, as they right after coup became in favour of the new government, with both Hogosha and Samura thrown away from Naval Forces business. While Hogosha adapted, it is very likely Samura will rather now cooperate covertly with Exiles. It is also likely, looking at remade Kishiro ID (previous one reminded Kishiro players they are NOT Samura, yet that line disappeared recently) - which may encourage Kishiro to be more bold than before.
In short, Kishiro might be the "bad guys" right now, being in favor of the government, even escalating conflicts in Taus and Sigmas against Samura. You know, think of a dog on the loose, who sees a cat - and the owner is not away or just doesn't like cats.
This also give a very likely possibility to make Kishiro arogant and falsely courageous, making them a rather agressive force - Samura is just waiting for it.
Openly attacking Kishiro will give the Kusari population quite a hint that if the Imperial forces were ever to get in Kusari, nearly half of the population will lose their jobs and the 2nd biggest Kieretsu in Kusari collapses (if that were to happen).
The population is already angry with the emperors for the shattering of Kusari economy in the past - you need to be slightly more subtle than that, IMO. Like attacking Kishiro using the farmers, and when confronted "Well, we understand the sentiments of angry citizens, wishing for the return of angry emperor, but violence against civilians is not the way" type of thing. You know, being political.
Peregrine, you bring ups some good points indeed. I'd like to explain what we are thinking here.
First - Yes, we do attack a civilian convoy, but one A) Led by Kishiro, which (at least in my point of view, could be the wrong one) are indeed not viewed favourably and B) escorted by the Naval Forces, aimed for the Naval Forces. Furthermore, the exile pilots will not only be under strict order to aim for the engines of civilian escort craft, they also have the order to tractor in civilian escape pods and drop them off at Freeport 6 afterwards - this would be adressed in a further speech, and more Roleplay. Also, the fight will be broadcasted in the system, showing the citizens how merciful the exiles treat Kishiros supporters. The Attack itself is not directed at Kishiro itself - merely at the KNF and their research facility. Taking a Kishiro convoy seemed more logical, as they are more frequent and less protected than Naval ones. Under those circumstances T-29 doesn't seem really viable. Also, the small reaction force is a true point - I don't know what i've been smoking when writing this up o.o
Second - indeed, the event is new to Kishiros player faction since my (ashes on my head) complete forgetting of contacting them and KNF leadership (damn RL). This is completely my fault and will be corrected immediately. The transports are to roleplay being boarded (and the boarders using stun ammo) once the fighter wing moves in, and as the escorts are drawn away, the Kaga will give a command to the boarders (the transports, in this case) to move out and retreat. The transports should be mainly Transports capable of transporting H-Fuel, which in my eyes means Kamome or Big Dragon. The relatively small size of the convoy (only three more or less small transports), could be another reason for the KNF not to dispatch a strong force, although the two snubs are indeed too less.
Event Date - indeed, this is usually planned in advance, but as this is my first event, I wanted to check if there is any interest in these kind of events, since everything I participated in the last weeks was just clash after clash. If there is any interest in this, I will make a date now.
@Pancakes: To your first question is part of the answer to Peregrine. Another question I have has to be the following, regardless.
It is indeed true that the citizens (And I speak of "normal" Kusari people) are angry with the emperor for making mistakes. But they are another thing, and that is japanese men and women. While I don't question the formation of the republic (It made sense. In a way.) I do question that Kusari citizens would just accept the Republic Propaganda without any further ado. They are not libertonians raised in the hunt for greater profit, they're not even Rheinlanders with their need for individualism (and at least in the last I know what I'm speaking of). Japan has had periods of (quasi) Republican rule twice, once during the Boshin War, and once now. Thing is: In both periods, the japanese faith and thinking relied (At least partly) on the Tenno approving. I simply cannot believe that millions of people who four years ago were under the rule of a (flawed) leader carriying the mandate of heaven now just say "Yes" and "Amen" to a government backed by foreign money and leadership.
Being political is indeed a thing. As I already mentioned, the Kishiro supporters would be treated merciful - if that is enough would be for the citizens to decide.
Char is right here, since Gauls were enemies of Kusari at the time, even for short period of time. Even if they are (forced) trade partners, from logical point of view their claim upon Tau-31 (which was Tau Wars fought for) is act of agression against Kusari. They are enemies, not friends.
Imagine this: you worked hard for buying a toy (ok, bad comparison for Kusarian Conquests here), but right after you bought it, some other kid takes it from you - and you are forced to accept it and become friend with that other kid.

Samura are more pro-Imperial now from logical point of view, since they were thrown away from military projects. In fact, with forming Republic and changing the favourite of the government, Kishiro was given a weapon.
After some feedback the decision to assault a Kishiro convoy has been changed to an assault on a purely KNF one. Also, I think I have to make something clear here: There is no respawn for fighter pilots, on neither side. The "Respawn" intended is just for the sake of the retreating bomber pilots getting the opportunity to jump in their fighters, after they immediately retreated in the opening attack.
The two wings of Exiles will NOT be present at the same time, the fighter wing will move in AFTER the bombers already retreated.
The same thing goes for the IKS Kaga - it will not intervene in the main fight, just be present for RP reasons.
