Hi, I can't seem to load the 24/7 RP server, properly. When I select character and go to log on, it just minimizes and goes back to my desktop, with the game still running, but I try to alt-tab back to it, it doesn't go back?
Is anyone else having this issue or know what's causing it? I can log onto other servers fine, so it's not a connection issue. I'm running ver 88.0, which is the same as the server, so it's not that either.

No, I haven't yet. To clarify, it used to work fine, it's only started doing in the past few days. I reinstalled Discovery recently and at first it worked fine, but now the server isn't loading properly.
This isn't a server issue, this is a bug caused by FL not properly recognizing your videocard. There's an ini file which lists known cards but it is terribly outdated, and we'll need to deploy an updated version with modern cards at some point.
It happens to me occasionally but always resolves on its own, usually following a game restart. Let me us know if the problem persists.
Edit: Re-read your post about being able to log in to other servers. That makes me think this is tied to a specific ship or base interior. Try creating a brand new character on the main server and see what happens.
Well, i haven't been online on Freelancer, because i lost my PC and wasn't at home back then.
Wonder if i could get my account from that PC transfered on this i use now...
Open for any suggestion... I really want to play again.
Or just do what I have to , since I suffer from the same issue. First question.....are you running System Mechanic for Anti-everything software? I found that I had to disable real protection to even install FL. It kept giving me a Trojan alert..even though its a legit copy of FL.
In my case , with this issue of crashing to desktop , I found the a reinstall of FL , followed by a reinstall of Disco's launcher solved the problem , though to be honest I may have to do this once a week , and sometimes every other day. I'm no software person ( last thing I programmed on was a C64 ) , but this " weird work-around " does work for me. And no...it has never screwed up my account on the server , at least not to my knowledge.
