Note that I do not speak for the rest of the staff when I say this, but I often wonder whether nonsensical activity is better or worse than a squeaky clean plot with no holes at all.

In a way, these events offered a way to actually try and figure out what the Kusari - Gallic relations are supposed to be like. Nobody seems to know. Is Kusari a Gallic vassal state? I've been told Gallia has forbidden Kusari from building up its fleet. Is this still a thing? If not, why not?
The actual player interaction on the forums completely died out (from my point of view, Kusari didn't like the way things were going and just opted to stop replying to relevant threads for weeks) and has now been retconned, but all we're left with is differing opinions on what the relations between the two Houses currently are. Would be lovely to make that clear ooRP, now that the inRP means to sort things out are gone.
[The following is the opinion of Tabris and does not reflect the entire team.]
Looking at both Houses' economies and current standing forces, not to mention the current state of the Gallic-Bretonia war, it would not end well for either House to go fisticuffs at the moment. Gallia cannot afford to lose access to both Kusari's markets and the trade from Rheinland for their valuable resources (as Gallia desperately requires both in order keep production running.) while Kusari cannot afford to fight. Both sides would lose a significant number of ships and manpower, causing both sides to become extremely vulnerable to a 3rd or even 4th party stepping in to take advantage and pretty much 'crush' one or both sides.
Not only would the end results not be fun for anyone it would also ruin the role-play of other factions in the long run, causing stories in progress to be utterly useless (both player-led and developer planned.) and having to start everything from scratch. In the end a Republic Kusari - Gallia war would end up with several factions being crushed and even greater drama.
As for the state of Kusari-Gallia relations I will try to shed some light on it.
Before the 'incident' Gallia had a vested interest in keeping the Republic afloat, it provided a market for equipment and resources to draw upon in order to keep up their own war efforts against Bretonia/Liberty + assorted allies. In turn the Republic gained legitimacy and backing from Gallia. While not to the level of a Vassal Gallia still had considerable sway upon the Kusari Republic's government. There are more finer details to it, however the relationship is like this: Gallia needs Kusari's markets and access to-through it's space to reach Rheinland's markets. Rep-Kusari both needs the legitimacy Gallia provides in addition to not not ending up in a war that would leave them extremely vulnerable to take-over by another force due to the losses sustained in such a conflict.
All in all, it was a bad situation that went too far and would have broken several factions.
The Core/Zoner conflict did not mess up the RP/Stories for a large number of factions in the short and long terms. Different circumstances, different peoples.

Yes, this attitude doesn't make it better, contribute so it gets higher again, this is just a downtime which will go over soon enough.
What attitude? pointing out a fact? I think ignoring the bigger problem here is a bad idea. Im sorry but i dont think i can put sprinkles on a pile of crap.
Which was my point. Oh and the sideshot to my contributions to the community aside we have systemic die off not necessarily tied to this subject.
But gone without being addressed seriously is a big issue. More work IN the server isnt going to do jack.

We aren't masters of anything here were just a community playground with a lot of splinters right now. I would take new activity that's unrefined and new over the death sentence were holding our breaths on.
Let me put it to you this way. I administrate over a vary VARY large community of role players i've brought many to disco but those handful of people have had such terrible experiences here its poisoned the pot.
So really I dont know what else i COULD do to help this. raise a flag? flail my arms? I dont want to spend to much time on this but i mean. some of us has got to get out there and do something. to bring in more blood to corrupt.
I'm all for this retcon. When I saw the posts about the KNF players killing the RNS I was angry, mostly because I as both a Gallic navy player and Hogosha player was enjoying the rp with Kusari and Gallic forces respectively. And I saw that incident as nothing more then a group of players that decided that they didn't like Gallia, and chose to break up political relations because "lol".
