WWII D-day doenst make sense for you, then?
A good defense is a great offense. Do you not understand this principle?

No man, many around here do not understand. Not only that, some look straight ahead only and ignore any good RP ideas.
I had a discussion with some mates on Skype, months ago when I was still interested in the game, way before they ruined the missiles and torpedoes.
My idea was like this: "Send 1-2 LSF ships to make contact with Council or other factions GRN is at war with in Gallia. Once they talk to each other, they offer LSF a map with one of the important Gallic GRN owned systems, then they prepare a surprise attack by using jump holes and ending up attacking an important GRN base with the help of Council bombers / LSF bombers and maybe a few small Navy reinforcements."

What do you think Royal Flush was about? Some memorable poker party?

How are you so blind that you cannot comprehend a military counter-strike?

Stop focusing on Leeds. Attacking leeds is NOT a coutner-offensive move. You're just piling onto one place and hoping you get somewhere. There has been battle after battle onto that location and it's well fortified. Either you could make a final sweep and take it, OR, what you do is logically attack behind their front lines to cut them off. With a flanking move you can then inRP sweep down and assault them from front and back.
That's just one scenerio. The whole point of attacking gallia for the Bretonia and Liberty forces would be to hit and cause economic damage and perhaps force some men from the front to move back to defend. It's a strategic move but I guess all your capable of thinking is stockpiling Leeds with more and more dead corpes and destroyed ships.
Never mind that the story here still gonna take more time getting done than the whole bloody WWII in real life.
How much more time story telling needs?

Come on, the entire Taus are ours to strike at the GRN, make a CR, Council, Maquis, Brigand, BD, OC, whatever openly anti-GRN Tau faction and join in the fight, nobody is limiting you or anyone to stick with Leeds and BAF or LN. But going straight for Gallia at this point is only possible if you are Council/Brigand/Maquis/etc, or if Kusari gets away from Gaul control and onto a lot better terms with Liberty, allowing foreign forces through their own house. Can't really see the latter happening anytime soon though.
D-day, your beloved iRL example, didn't happen at the heart of German forces either, it wasn't next to Berlin but on the shores of what used to be and later again became France, German-occupied territory at that time.
