So I take it you tried to increase the drawing distance of those specific models? Trade lanes and jump holes? They work differently than constructs or stations. What you could try is "0, 50000" - the former is the normal 0 to limit the most detailed LOD and the latter is the max-distance limit for the LOD to disappear. Meaning the object is shown from a distance of 0 units to 50.000 units. Of course you can set any other amount for the latter. Try it, maybe that works. If not, I think it is hardcoded with the sub-class "jump hole" and "trade lane". Either hardcoded or written down in some other ini.
Damn thing didn't work. What do you suggest i should do?
Well, when it's hardcoded, you can't do much about it. I stay incorrected, though, maybe @Xalrok, @"Auzari" or @Treewyrm know how to alter that. The only thing I can think of is turning a jump hole model into a .cmp (the current jump holes ares .3db) and that way turn the specific model into a station or a construct. Then I'd try and add it as child to a polygon-less .3db if that is possible. That way the jump hole itself isn't the jump hole but has a technically-only-jump hole object as parent. That however is much effort for little payoff and would require you to know how to model, convert and hardpoint. And even then you don't know if you can a construct/station/ship as child of a jump hole/trade lane.

Thanks for your time Sombra. I really hope there is a more simple solution lol
Laz Wrote:I saw you posting in that thread to help him. Just to add a little on your point about changing max lods, while you are right and it is hard coded, it can be changed via exe hacks. I've linked the area here.
Here, try that one. Laz wasn't able to reply to you directly, but thankfully he can still send PMs to annoy people with helpful information.

Just make sure you're not accidentally altering your Discovery files and really only the files of a freelancer version.

Laz PM-ed me too, i reckon he is about to advise me the same thing, but I tried that too, and those Hex codes that i need to look for are not there, it's really weird.
I have the ability to post in this section, I don't know if that means I'm allowed to, but since no RP goes on here I'll assume I can. If not, let me know and won't do so again.
Anyways, onto your issue, Sombra said about the jumphole and that's the only thing I can think of with trying to fix it. My suggestion that I gave to Sombra, via PM, seems to work, however, as these images would suggest after I just did it myself.
I'm not sure about that thing, I have HxD hex editor, and when i search for the codes that are under the first column, it says not found or something like that Heeeeeeeeeelp me
In regards to jumpholes, I think Sombra hit the nail on the head. Jumpholes are, to the extent of my knowledge, the only objects in space that use that file format. They are also the only kind of object that is not being affected by the LOD changes. This idea is further reinforced by Treewyrm's black hole being of that format (its not in the game). I'd say convert it to the new format and see how that goes.
If you want to do the LOD changes, here is how (sorry I didn't have a voice. My headset went boom recently so you can't appreciate my sexy voice):
P.S. Sorry took so long. Internet had a moment and stopped uploading half way.
Dude, you made a video just for me. I can't thank you enough. If every person on this world was like you, life would be perfect. I'll watch it when i get home tomorrow, as wifi is shitty here. Thanks again dude, you're a savior
