Really? guys, c'mon! Let me know when discoverygc becomes a freaking classroom. Already having issues with population and bring this out? waste of time. Dont scare the young fellas! or simply, those who just dont care!
The point of the game is to have a great time! if you can understand it, well, lets play it.
P.S.- Correct my english for any mistake! *laughs*

Abuse of punctuation and funky tense usage is probably the main thing I see that annoys me. I don't judge ESL people too harshly, but there are plenty of native speakers whose spelling and grammar would be put to shame by even a late primary school student.
That said, the number one thing that really sets me off is the people who think they're really great and verbose writers because they use obscure words, flowery language, and stilted/overcomplicated grammar to try and sound smart. Half the time they don't even get it right, but even when they do I don't think they realise how terrible it actually reads back. I'm sure these people know who they are, too.
well I for one English is not my native language. I know I suck at English and kindly do not need anyone pointing it out to m. it is constant battle trying to vocalize with people on a daily level that I do not need such things when I for one log on to relax and not be badgered about my English skills I know my mistakes thank you very much.
Guys, this thread is not about making you feel bad about your English. It's about giving you the chance to improve it if you wish so. In my years on Disco I had the pleasure to improve my skills beyond what I have been taught in school and university. The only thing I struggle with is the punctuation and that will hardly change due to how different my native language is on the subject. We love our commas, English does not.
And if you get offended by existance of this thread you need to harden the heck up.

"It's" and "its" is by far the most common mistake I see not just on Discovery but on the internet in general. In fact I don't think a day has passed without me seeing someone misspelling it at least once.
It's - it is or it has
its - belonging to it, a possessive pronoun like "his" or "hers"
It's a great ship.
Its performance in a fight is great.
Than and then, apostrophe before the s, they're and there (and their), should of/would of/could of instead of should/would/could have also come to mind. The last two are especially annoying because they mostly come from native speakers (hi Flash).
You always have to write the letter "I" large. "Yes, I did that." Not, "Yes, i did that."
What I see mostly within the game is the "gamer speak", for example, "Hi y r u here?" This is fine on Forums (I guess) but in game, such things should never be written like that. Instead, just write "Hey, why are you here?" It's easy if you get used to it. ^-^
The problem that I have is, that I always need to re-read my wall of textes quite often, because my notebook decides to write mostly every first letter big instead of small... which really annoys me and takes most of my time to fix that.
In the end, I always like it when people are reading my stuff, and telling me where I got errors and so on, because that always helps me to improve my skills.
