Everyone can use a granade... but at least i have a better chance of killing him and he has a closer chance to me at killing him
This is, quite literally, an analogy of throwing a gunboat against a snub.
I don't remember that many complaints about PvP being hard or unfair back when I started playing the game. While I was horrible at it, tracking of missiles and torpedoes were absolute crap and thus completely useless. And yet people managed to have fun fights ( with the exception of that stupid 10k=PvP dead rule) and get better. PvP aces will always have advantage over average players. Just like in any other game where proper matchmaking does not exist.
It's a game with a high learning curve which necessitates extremely good reflexes. If you're not willing to put in the time, and don't have the reflexes, you will get nowhere. There is nothing that can be done statwise to fix this. If you slow everything down, everyone will be slower, and aces will still be killing you anyway because they understand the way the game's mechanics work.
To all of you trowing "get good" argument. . .
Let me teach you something you should know from school :
not all humans have same sight, hand-aye coordnation and reflexes, so many simply cant "get good".
Most obvius example is WW I pilot Red Baron, who had exceptional sight, which alowed him to see enemy way before he was spoted and that alowed him time to shoot and kill first before enemy even have time to see him. He win most of his battles that way. Even today, first condition if you want to be pilot is exceptional sight!
Most of as have averege such abilities, so Best we can do is be averege, no mater how much we train. Those with better sight/hand-aye coordnation/reflexes can become veterans, or aces if they train long enough. I will not even mention what can people with bad abilities like this can achive in disco, it is obvius.
And let me remind you, Ace is better than veteran, and veteran is better than averege.
So averege player can only beat other averege or newbie, cant beat veteran or Ace.
With disco aiming system it is all about those natural abilities, so dont trow "get good" argument, you cant "get good" against your own biology.

It wasn't derailed by vets, it was derailed by you. I responded to all of your points six pages ago, but you ignored that.
Rather, you filled the thread with useless back and forth and whiny two-liners about how pointless everything is.
Honestly seems like you're more interested in complaining about how horrible devs are rather than getting answers to your concerns, some of which I think are legitimate.
I still don't understand how some of you can talk in a serious manner about this pvp thing. You complain about setups and min maxing about us "pvpwhores", when there's no such thing being done. I personally fly my sabre the same way as others do, a mine, 2/3 shield busters and rest hull busters. You don't have to overcomplicate things.
This game is as much as anything else in life. There will be good or exceptional people in a work place as many as terrible and useless ones. But we are a generation which has been told that you can do anything you can dream of, well guess what...you can't. Failuire is an aspect of life and we can't all be good at everything.
But of course you love to complain and point fingers at random people who are better than you, because it is way easier to do that than trying to improve.
Some complain about us not giving them enough hints, while others say the youtube vids and forum tutorials aren't enough. Well what do you want us to do? Buy equipment of a few thousands of dollars so i can film myself clicking some buttons? You wont learn even if i do that because you have never actually tried to play this game. You just sat there in your room with your door locked and mashed some buttons on the keyboard crying how unfair is the world when you want achievments without putting any work into it.
So yeah, let's restructure the entire game because you get mad over a few pixels.
What is more sad about this is that some of you are 4-5-10 year old veterans in this game and you still have no clue what an engine kill is. Movement is all this game is about, you get the basics of that and you will improve at a tremendous pace, while aim improves with movement.
Like any other game in this world you can improve by watching other people play. I did, and not only in disco. By simply reading a few of yber's tutorials i realised how easy is to outmanuver someone in any situation.
But then again. This game is not just about skills and how big your guns are, but intuition as well. Through my years of playing i have managed to realise how and when someone is panicking during a group fight or 1v1and know how to attack them or when someone gets a sudden surge of perfect aiming thus i know when to back down.
Of course fights will drag on forever and ever when you dont have any sense of engagement on how to sit behind the enemy or where to shoot at him or even what goddamn buttons to press. If you look at yber's videos of group fights and pvps you will see it very clearly but you wont notice that when you refuse to join a fight because you will lose it and get that very tiny bit of experience to help you in such matters, because after all you cant learn something if you have no clue how to learn it. Much like math, you do problems in order to improve yourself and thus learn from failuires, you wont gain anything by using a calculator that does everything for you.
Me and like many others have been in your shoes, the differences here is that i worked at becoming better instead of satisfying myself with mediocrity and crying myself to sleep when i couldn't do something.
But of course no matter how much i talk nothing will change, because you like this, you like complaining and pointing fingers at me or those like me, because that is what you are best at. You will never come up with a clever argument because you have none, just smash that keyboard into oblivion while hoping you can be as good as me without putting any work into it.
What is funny is that we are having such type of arguments on a game that is over a decade old, and is seriously pathetic.
Life is unfair, you cant be good at everything and you shouldn't have any hopes at achieving something without putting work into it.
I mean seriously you want a gun or a setup to make you as good as an "ace" ? Also recieve buff on ships because your faction is bad at pvp ? Have you ever thought how badly would i destroy you if i used the UN ship in a serious fight ?
Grow a brain a set of balls and do something about yourselves and stop complaining every chance you get. And now i am not being mean, i am just voicing the truth, but of course it will not be taken that way and i will be just another pvpwhore who is butthurt about i dont know what when i couldn't care less. Point is I will enjoy destroying you each chance i get, not because i am a jerk, but because i get a special pleasure at demolishing those who don't put any work into something but keep complaining. Have fun and flame away.
