im have been sitting and thinking about How the hell there can be this many Cap Ships
a ship the sieze of a BS would cost billions of Credits and months too build
not too mention maintenance and further upgrades
also Crew pay life support basic needs
the same goes for other Cap ships
IT WOULD COST NOTHING SHORT OF A SMALL COUNTRY
i mean how the hell can everyone run around in Bs there probably isnt even enought natural resources in SIrius too build the number if Bs there is now and will come later
so i Suggest that the Cheapest Bs Should at least cost 300 mill cheapest Cruiser 200mill
Cheapest Gun boat 100mill should also have less speed id say maybe 70
and the Guns should be able too kill a fighter in what 4 shots but turn slow
also a CD should not be able too disrupts BS and and Cruisers sine how the hell can such a small thing do anything too an engine that large
Then you'll see people in trains trading for days long to get their 300 million and devastate everything in sight. What are you talking about?!
If I make fighters stronger against battleships, many people start to rant that battleships are too weak. That they are flying fortresses that should be invulnerable for any fighters. Next, when battleships do become stronger, everyone starts to get them, and same people start to rant that there are too many battleships on server.
So, what should I do in this situation? I guess not equip fighters with uberdevastating weapons, and not to make battleships worth half a billion. Just to keep things more or less balanced.
Maximillian ... If you can get 300 million in 3 hours of trading you are either cheating or
running a large multiple of computers, which is tantamount to not exactly playing fair
either.
Agree with Igiss by all means, but please have a logical reason for doing so. His balancing
issues should not be complicated by exaggerations from players.

Maximilian, that is exactly what is unbalanced here. 300 million credits in 3 hours is obscene, hopefully something will be done about trade routes in the future releases to nerf those profits a bit. You have no less than 5 Capital class ships yourself and then some, and how long have you played on Discovery?
I think Battleships are quite strong enough as they are now, they're just too accessible. The only reason every newbie and their dog has a Battleship is because they can, in 3 hours should they already own a good trading ship. I still suggest trade profits should be set a little more in-balance with mission profits, perhaps increasing high level mission profits slightly and decreasing major trade route profits a bit.
Ok, Maximillian, maybe you'd tell us curious people how do you get 300 mil in 3 hours? Or PM, if you are not willing to reveal it to public.
If you won't tell, and you'll really get money like this in no time, that would be most obvious cheating. For now, I suppose that it's either you boasting too much or using some original glitch in the mod that no one else ever found.
Going by what your saying, increasing the prices of BS's is by no means a solution to your "problem".....
So, a BS becomes an extra 100Mill..... so what? we do some more trading before we get it. It still doesnt solve your problem, which is that RP wise an individial does not have the resources to build and staff a BS.
What would be a better solution to what you are saying is to limit Caps only to factions, in which the leaders have control of allocation of the caps.
Also, this would reduce server lag when every player is going around in a cap in NY.
Edenist ... Nice thought, but we have already done this one. You cannot limit battleships
to factions, and in my opinion, nor should you. Anyway, would you like police it ??
