Aside of Gabe's personality ingame and anything regarding the ban, why can't the dude just give away his stuff? Imo the mentality of "lets just burn anything the man touched" its not too healthy. Im just saying he had a lot of stuff and money

There are many reasons, few that come in mind, not in any particular order are:
a) Infusion of assets into the community is not really helpful. Yes, it might help individuals that get them, but for community overall it is more of a loss. In order to get the assets the players would normally have to participate in the environment, either as traders, battlezone or mission farmers etc. That would be activity which can potentially create interaction for others and the whole circle continues. This is why we have money sinks.
b) Giving away assets to friends etc. might be seen like an attempt to circumvent the ban. Despite what the player said in his ragequit posts, this might be a move towards potential comeback. We only have his word for this after all and his attitude might change in the future.
If it was in a form of lottery/event etc. by a departing player, then it could be a positive thing (although keep in mind reason a) Banned player however is a different story.
c) The loss of assets in the case of misconduct is clearly mentioned in the rules. The is how it is, you agree with it when you connect to the server, deal with it. The rules work best when there are no exceptions. And at least at the first glance this one does not warrant an exception at all.
Yeah I know this is a flood, here, have something to look at:
