Sometimes bugs pop up and then the fixes for said bugs cause more bugs, et cetera. It happens. I'd certainly take a week's delay than half of my ships breaking in weird and wonderful ways. Keep up the good work.

this delay was unexpected even from me, a playtester, which has a few privileges knowing what is going on. I had 99% certainty the patch would come on time and perhaps with a hotfix very shortly after.

I'm fairly sure this is the most communication there has ever been surrounding a patch, and yet this one invokes the most ire. I am surprised at the amount of toxicity over this. The options really end up being a buggy mess or a polished product. My fav example for this will always be Cyberpunk which the devs kept saying they needed more time for and the community kept rushing them. Devs decided not to delay again and the result was a buggy mess - yet only a year down the line the game was quite polished (not perfect mind you, but good). That was buy a team of paid developers, not a bunch of hobbiests doing something for free.
Things could be better for sure, but the amount of venom I see is truely spectacular.
(To clarify, just piggy-backing off your comment, not accusing you of that)

If there are unforeseen problems, and you expect delays to come as a result, then let people know, either here or on discord. We have dev-lounge for a reason.
Well, as far as I'm concerned, some people definitely knew about it and I've seen talks about it in multiple discords with no overlapping playerbase, so the reasons were pretty much public at this point. Though a small announcement in that regard would've help to sweeten the deal.

> Public announcement
Pick one, if I need a mandatory account on a platform and then join a room on said platform, just to view some announcement, that information is by definition not public. The forum existed far before this Discord trash did and I stand still that Discord is one of the worst things that ever happened to internet, I'm willing to die on that hill.
tldr: Let's not assume everyone's an ePiC gAmEr that has Discord.
