Asuras is a quick refire SNAC. Corona is a super fast railgun now. it depends if you're using the light or heavy versions for fighters or bombers respectively

And I guess the forward gun the Claymore has is the closest there will be to a former Corona.
Quote:Cloaking now consumes batteries according to your speed
- getting very close to an enemy or letting an enemy get close to you will uncloak you
- beep sound only audible to grouped members
- if you move fast or cruise, you'll eat lots of batteries
- crawling or moving at low speed makes your cloak last for a long time
What use, in this game, do cloaks even provide any more?
- Cloaks were used a lot to evade death in combat. There is no feasible way to utilized a cloak for escape any more.
- if you're playing by the rules, which pirates never do (Using chat -Y to locate targets), how will you know there is an enemy in a system unless you're almost on top of them? Then what? You cant activate your cloak in time. They can deactivate it by just flying close
What is too close? This benefits pirates 100 times more than it does defense and casual players. Pirates normally sit at lanes and gates, making their cloak last A long time. Again, you coming off a lane* or out of a gate, forcing then to them decloaking makes no difference because they got you already. If nothing else, it is a pirate's personal reminded that you just got in range of their "roleplay" You cant escape and you can't do anything but pay up or just get blown up.
Cloaking and standing still, for the sake of evading is impossible because enemy players just need to sit by a JH or gate or lane and my proximity decloaks me and I'm right back where I started.
So unless you're a pirate, Cloaks are practically devoid of purpose in this patch.

cloaks should be able to act as countermeasures so you get the ability to cloak and use countermeasures, but I don't think this feature is working or implemented right now.
cloaks can still allow you to move undetected, albeit at longer ranges. I think if you cruise you still get a good amount of cloak time.
getting outside of CD range (5k) and cloaking is an almost guaranteed escape given that you don't fly in a straight line

Most gun fights are well within 5k range. There is no way to evade a determined pirate. Once a transport is stopped by a pirate, that's it, it's over.
Once a gunboat is flanked by a bomber or pair of fighters, there is no escape. Once two gunboats go head to head, there is no getting out of 5 k range unless one allows the other gb to get away.
Cloaks cant at as countermeasures as it is very very difficult to avoid gun fire, avoid a 5k CD and or activate a cloak when the battle rangers hover between 2k and 100m.
You're making it sound like all a gunboat needs to do is turn a corner and cloak, in space.
Getting away with a cruise is virtually impossible if you're a gunboat against anything more nimble.

This is not possible I'm afraid. Cloak disruptors are effectively Countermeasures in a trench coat, and the CM part of them has been reactivated this patch.
Cloaking devices however, are their own thing.
