Greetings, friends.
I have recently came upon your presentation when I was looking for information about the "Uncharted" systems and the "corssroad" system I have recently seen mentioned as a source of some rare resources. I think it was the Quantum's auction where I saw it solidly confirmed for the first time, but that's not the point.
I'd like to purchase your services. I didn't see any mention of those systems in your "restricted" systems list, so I assume you do offer cartography reports for them. I'd like to purchase your charts and reports for the crossroad system and all the uncharteds currently avaiblable. How much would that cost me?
My second request... well, more question really, is about the Bustard carrier your info sheet says you operate. I'm currently looking into obtaining one for our group. Now, I don't expect you to sell yours, though if you knew someone who would be willing to sell it, I wouldn't say no to that. My question is simplier. Would you be potentialy open for a training contract of sorts? You see, while we are decently large operation, the vast majority of our people lives and works planetside. Only a fraction of us has any experience with space and even those who are frequenting the vast emptines of the 'void are, at most, operating transports.
For reasons I would prefer to keep to myself, at least untill we get to know each other a bit better, we would like to avoid hiring spacers from outside of our group. I'm fairly confident we can get enough volunteers among our people to crew the ship, but they're dirtsiders, they wouldn't have a clue what to do. Since I'm absolutely not going to put people without any hint of how spaceflight works onto a carrier and tell them to learn it on the fly, I'm looking for someone willing to give our people the training and skills necessary to operate the carrier.
Would your organisation be able - and willing of course - to take such... unorthodox contract? I'm aware of the fact you don't mount weapons on your vessels, so we'd have to find another way of training our people in manning them, but frankly, that can wait for when they can actually serve as crew and not passangers.
Leon Vicci, Starfliers To: Finnean MacRory, Irregulars Subject: Uncharteds and Training
My name is Leon Vicci, the head of the Starfliers. Forgive me, Finnean, one part of your message surprised me and it took me several days to come to an answer. I'll address the requests you have sent over.
I have visited the sector known as Earhart myself. From what I have seen, you are correct in designating the area as some form of crossroads, as the rifts there are changing every few hours. While we are on the topic, considering the entire sight is a graveyard and I have had an experience within one myself, I do not feel it appropriate for our pilots to start charting and probing all the remains just to compile a report. I find the idea disrespectful. Imagine doing the same thing to Planet Leeds, it's something I do not agree with. Also, goes without mentioning that there are some very dangerous weapons in the system's center. Saw someone get a little too close and almost die... don't wish that happening to one of my own.
The other side of things, however, are these unexplored sectors that have shown themselves to be connected to Earhart. I am confident that my pilots are prepared to jump in and record these areas, as many others may be wanting to know what is on the other side of these rifts. You included it seems. Pricing on these uncharted locations will be the same as any others, 400,000 sc per system. I have only seen two open rifts, which would be 800,000 sc. Though in case there is a third I didn't notice, I will call it an even 1,000,000 sc to have all three mapped.
Onto the part that had me take a very long pause on my reply, you're asking us to train your teams on how to operate the "Bustard"-Class? Being such a large and cumbersome ship, it would make sense that not everyone knows what all the desks do within the bridge. My time with this particular ship has spanned multiple years. In that time I haven't gotten any closer to learn how to train someone else, let alone a whole team, on how to fly such a ship.
What I can do for you, however, is moor the Velorum on the Starfliers' base in Inverness and have your teams take a tour. May need to have an Orbital Spa & Cruise transport ship bring you over, our docking computers won't allow you in otherwise. This tour will be at no cost, as I rarely have the chance to walk down the corridors myself too. How does this sound?

Greetings, Leon,
Thanks for getting back to me. I completely understand your unwillingness to commit your pilots to mapping system as dangerous as you claim Earhart is, though even the information you already provided in your message are invaluable. Many thanks for the warning about the weapons, that will certainly save us a lot of trouble should we eventually venture there. I have to admit the system being a graveyard is news to me, would you mind giving me a bit more specifics? Graveyard of what exactly? Nomads?
I'm glad to hear the Uncharted systems are not as dangerous as Earhart itself and the price is about as what I expected, so I accept the terms, 1 000 000 SC for the reports.
Regarding the Bustart business... yeah, I get it's an unconventional request at best but given our people are legitimate dirtsiders, I really need someone to turn them into spacers. You can't simply put an air cair mechanic onto a space certified vessel and expect him to be able to fix it. Your answer is not what I hoped for, but an answer I probably should've expected, I'll just have to find a different means to give them the skills necessary. I will take you up on the tour offer though, just not right now. I think that's best left for when they know their way around a space ship, I'm afraid the experience would be thoroughly lost on them at this stage.
Again, thanks for you message and for your sincerity. Let me know where you want me to wire the money.
Halpert Kennedy, Starfliers To: Finnean MacRory, Irregulars Subject: Easy now!
Hey, hey! Easy now...
You know, it's hard enough getting into the goddamn systems you asked for. These things don't write themselves. Give me a little time... you'll get your reports.

Greetings, Mr. Kennedy,
Sorry about that, I have that reminder set on a timer for all my comms. I have disabled it for this particular one, so it shouldn't pester you guys again, though I have to say, It's not nice to leave people hanging. I don't mind waiting for the reports, but I would prefer to be at least told it might take some time, so I know what to expect.
Anyway, thanks for the message, I'll let you work.
Halpert Kennedy, Starfliers To: Finnean MacRory, Irregulars Subject: Job is done
Well, the job is done. When I say the crap in the Third Uncharted system is dangerous... believe me. I'm thinking most of this million is going towards ship repairs.
Here's the Invoice for the job. Once paid, I'll send over the reports.
