Mark Kaine strode into America's bar. A common meeting place for Legion staff, it seemed like there was always someone to talk to. It had a friendly aura about it. Hell, even some Senior Staff meetings were held there.
"Hey! Captain Kaine! Sit down and have a drink, sir."
Mark looked over to see newly promoted Lieutenant William Wallace, waving to him from a far table. The Captain smiled, and walked over.
"Will! Good to see you, mate. I was impressed by you today. That Carrier was a helluva ship, but we turned out all right, didn't we."
"Yes sir, thank you, sir."
A bartender walked over, and Mark ordered a Cannonball Gin. That was the only drink he trusted in this place, you never know, the Outcasts were commonly known to spike their drinks with cardamine...
A familiar face entered the bar. He smiled at Mark, and walked over.
ooc: I was bored at 1:50, so I decided to write this thing. An HF/AW/Helghast/GoR/Hacker/Outcast person can post in this thread, or really anyone. I'll work them into it somehow.
Remember, i spent like 5 minutes on this, and it's late, so I know it's crappy. I'll post another installment tomorrow when I'm awake...
I am a long-absent Supreme Commander, Executive Commander, Grand Admiral, Fleet Admiral, and Captain in the mighty Hellfire Legion. I have returned, and am on an urgent mission from Drake Thastus to return the Legion to its former glory, and to claim the galaxy for its own. Only then will I be able to rest.
RP Story (Still deciding whether or not to finish)
Kai Thastus raised his hand and the Bartender slid a drink across the counter. At a table in the rear of the bar a man motioned for him to come over. "Kai over here." The man called
Kai obliged and sat down. It was his intelligence chief, Dax Verceron. “We got word of some strange happenings in the boonies sir. Seems someone or something’s causing a bit of a stir.”
“How many Recon ships have we got left?”
“Enough sir, I was going to lead this one myself…however our last patrol failed to return. Bit of an interesting turn of events.”
“Indeed, now you said that you knew about some South Alliance and FEAR fleet movements correct?”
Dax paused a moment, “Details are a bit fuzzy but recordings show that the SA shipyards are working overtime. Carriers, Dreadnoughts and Cruisers are coming out daily. With that expensive Zoner armor as well. However as our officers so kindly demonstrated… Not much of an issue.”
“Yes my Raid with Denelo Mori went well the other day. My bomber, his recruit’s gunboat and that Wolf fellow, dispatched two cruisers and an Assault Battlecruiser.”
“Perhaps we should by Mori a drink then sir…”
Kai held up his comm, “Hey Denelo, get down to the bar mate. Drinks are on me today.”
Denelo walked into the bar, and joined Kai and Dax at their table.
"Hey. Sorry it took me so long, was training on the Goldenflame. Had to take a shuttle over here."
Denelo sat down, and picked up his drink. "Did I hear you talking about recon ships when I walked in?" At a nod from Dax, he continued. "The Unstoppable - you know, that little probe of mine - has reported ANOTHER new Carrier turned out just the other day. Won't be long now until every single member commands one. Stupid idiots. Don't they know that a few Legion Bombers and Gunboats could rip that fleet of about 20 Carriers and Cruisers to shreds?" He sighed and shook his head. "By the way, my bother made a report too. There's been a lot of activity from the lines of those Afeareds, or whatever they call themselves. Worst pilots I've ever seen, but they do have good equipment."
They drank in silence for a few minutes, then Denelo spoke again.
"I'll be doing a lot of training for a while. Trying to perfect a new idea of mine. Also, Kai, you mind if I call the Order and buy an Osiris to help with assaults? Neither the Silverstorm or the Goldenflame are very good for taking out other Battleships, you know."
He continued drinking slowly as he waited for a response.
Kai took another sip, the alcohol giving a slight burn as it went down. "Denelo, an Osiris is a good ship my friend. However I am concerned about our fleet size. So many battleships can cause complications given the location of our bases. However, if you must get one then do so. I must recommend a Battle Cruiser though. Might fit your needs and it would be the only one in the fleet anyways." Kai took another sip of his tequila.
Dax leaned forward to Denelo, "There is the possibility of obtaining...a certain ship manufactured by the IMG. Known as an Albatross. A good sturdy ship, Admiral Malone commanded one before it took a beating from the nomads. Has some "difficulties" in asteroid fields.... Oh and we managed to get our hands on a few more Vipers as of late. Enough for a 4 man squadron. I took the liberty of assuming command of one." Dax finished waiting for Kai to pick up.
"Yes, we are forming an elite fighter squadron for the best pilots in the Legion. A small four man fighter wing designed just for bringing down Fighters, bombers, gunboats and cruisers. I will elaborate when I send out the information to the pilots in involved. But I thought the idea may interest you." Kai paused...
..."Oh and upon Captain Phelps suggestion I am going to construct a crow heavy fighter. For at least testing purposes to see how the thing maneuvers. It could prove to be highly effective as an interceptor..."
Denelo sat with a smile on his face. "Ah, a Battle Cruiser... yes, that would be perfect. I was trying to think of something that would work well without continuing to overbalance our fleet too much, but the Osiris was all I could think of, as it is a kind of light battleship. Thank you."
Dax went to order more drinks, and Denelo lowered his voice to speak to Kai.
"We still need to battle-test the GRC, please remember..."
Dax came back, and Denelo continued on the former subject.
"Also... The Silverstorm has been acting up lately. It's also no good for it's original job anymore - it was made to defend Vespucci against a huge fleet (with another fleet on it's side, of course), but that really won't be happening due to the Rules of Honor. Even if it does, the Silverfire and Phoenixfire would do just as well, if not better, at the same thing. So I was thinking: do you mind if the old Silverstorm is replaced by a newer model? Say... an Osiris? Yes, I know I'm consistent. Either way, the old Silverstorm may have to be scrapped soon."
Denelo's communicator buzzed. "Oops, excuse me." he said, stepping away from the table to a far, empty corner of the Bar.
Kai looked at Dax, "You think your order contacts could bring us one of those?"
Dax nodded his head no, "With the Order siding with the Corsairs and attacking Outcasts it is damn near impossible to get one unless you are on their side of the war. And our attack on Gamma didn't do much for friendlyness sake..."
"At any rate, there is something I need to talk to you about... I heard from the grapevine that you are seeing high yield tachyon emmissions from the Omicron Phi area... That true?" Kai queried.
"To put it simlply...yes." Dax replied
"Keep an eye on it then. Send one of those probes after it. It's where I came out of the rift I hope that he did not follow me..." Kai raised his comm and sent out a call to all other Senior staff offering drinks for those who got there quickly....
Denelo walked back to the table and sat down. "Sorry about that, seems a new probe got some data corrupted. To make a long story short, we now have a mad, armed probe on the lose in Magellan. I've already sent someone after it... shouldn't be too hard, but it's a shame, that thing was expensive to build."
He sighed.
"By the way, what was your decision about the Osiris?"
Kai chuckled, "Yeah that mad probe must be a huge threat to Sirius and Liberty. I bet the navy is tripping over themselves to stop it... Probably because our probes have Legion IFF the navy just goes after it... They are deathly afraid of the HF this point. "
Dax picked up where Kai left off, "Denelo, there is no way to get an Osiris. The order simply won't give us one. It is one of those impossibilities in life as of now."
The Bar door swung open, the light from the hall cast a shadow over the room as John Kyle stepped in. Kai signaled him to the table and called another round of the hard stuff...
"Hey John," said Denelo, "How are you? We were just talking about a new ship for the Legion."
Denelo sighed, and continued.
"Alright then, I'll have to come up with something. I would say a Liberty Dreadnought, but there's absolutely no way to get one now. Another raid operation like we did with the Silverblade is out of the question - They're making carriers now, no more Dreadnoughts. But I need something small... Meanwhile, Dax, can you see about that Albatross?"
Dax smiled "It just so happens...we got our hands on the blueprints for an Albatross. And the coordinates for the dock where they keep Liberty dreadnoughts on their way to the heap....
Also, there is the possibility of acquiring a Liberty Battlecruiser. But thats for another time."
John sat down with a tall beer, "I need this one...had a hell of a time today."
Kai finished off his current shot of tequila and poured himself another glass. "Yeah, I'll be needing this if Dax's intel is right..."
"Oh and what would that be?" John asked
"Might as well tell you two, I think Drake is back....in a bad way"
John took a deep breath, "Then we are ****ed....and so is the rest of sirius...."
