I was flying my BHG around liberty after my holiday.
Then when I almost was about to kill someone for a bounty I remembered something about the new rules thing.
And I still don't know what to do with this:
6. All bounties must specify the persons hired to take the bounty before they can start collecting on it.
Since some open bounty boards, for example the Republic of Liberty are closed since they don't have the requirements for the new rules.
So here are my questions:
- Does a bounty board have to specify my character names before I can start collecting?
- If someone who has put a bounty on someones else his head have to say every character that is allowed to take the bounty or can he/she also say that a whole faction can be allowed to hunt it down?
For example: All BHG ID'ed people can hunt down this target. But proof of ID and rep sheet have to be shown when the bounty is claimed. (Something in that matter)
- If I do have to assign on every bounty that I would like to work for then to who do I have to talk?. (I assume it would be the person who set the bounty. But in the case of an open bounty board, can there be a link of who to contact for a contract)
- Also... "12. You may only collect on a bounty which you have sponsored or funded (fully or partly) so long as it is open to others to collect."
Does that mean I got to pay to the one who posted a bounty to be allowed to get the bounty?
Also to the bounty board owners. UPDATE the board please.
The whole rule change has confused me a lot as well, and would like to have the questions answered.
Universal Shipping had a up-to-date bounty board until it got closed because we couldn't provide a list of all those who are allowed to take the bounty.
If the rules quoted above could be explained in a little more detail it would help a lot of us along.
Well I can explain 12., it means you can claim your own bounty only when it is also open for others to collect. This is probably to prevent people from using a bounty as an excuse to kill somebody. For example if I don't like somebody but can't kill according to the rules unless it's a bounty, without this rule I could just place a bounty which is only open to myself so I won't have to pay others. With this rule it would be open to others as well.

You have to talk to those who post the bounty showing proof of ID and your rep sheet. If the accept you then you can begin to take those bounties posted on that list. Basically it's been done for a while, Bretionia Crown Contracts have been doing this for a while. Then whn your accepted the employer names you as allowd to take these bounties he/she has set out.
Also you would have to speak with the person who made the bounty post as they are responsable for that post and all apllications and payments. And to make sure that they aare following the rules for how to post bountie.
Re: Bretonia Bounty Boards.
There is a list of allowed pilots to claim bounties in Bretonia. If you want inclusion then rep sheets ( full friendly list, not a screen shot of who your neutral with:)) and the rest will be needed. As for BHG in Bretonia, they already have a standing contract with the crown.
Hope this helps. Anything else you need to know then pm me.
I think I'm gonna pm the dudes of the liberty bounty board.
"As for BHG in Bretonia, they already have a standing contract with the crown."
And that means when you have an BHG ID you do not have to send a screen of your rep and all that you can just claim bounties if you show your ID?
The standing contract for the BHG in Bretonia is payed monthly to BHG command i presume since i am not in charge of that. I would suggest contacting your guild leaders to find out the finer points.
This is a topic I've been curious about also - It's the reason I sought out the Disco Help Channel™, but I'm endlessly forgetting to actually bring the topic up. Specifially Rule#6 as mentioned above, and how strict it is.
Quote:6. All bounties must specify the persons hired to take the bounty before they can start collecting on it.
As an example only (nothing personal, of course), let's take this thread, a bounty contract for one Roger Claymore.
Now in the thread title, we can clearly see "Opened to all junkers, freelancers and mercenaries..." Inside this thread there is no list of approved individuals or organisations. Does this one line satisfy the requirement of Rule#6? Or is it simply stating who can "see" the bounty request within RP?
If I now had a Freelancer or Mercenary (or Junker, in this case) character could I, within Rule#6, jump ingame without posting anything whatsoever on the forums, hunt, attack and (attempt to) kill the target? Presuming I then posted to claim the bounty should I win.
The same applies in other situations; I have a Corsair character who, during the standard day-to-day antics, may at some point end up gunning down someone listed on the Corsair Empire Bounty Board with or without knowing. Both the title and opening post here imply that Corsair ID'd characters are free to claim on these contracts (thus automatically within Rule#6), as far as I know without first announcing themselves or asking permission. Is this correct? (I understand that non-Corsair characters would have to register here and earn the right/approval to collect - such as a Freelancer. The same applies for many of the large bounty boards.)
TL;DR: Does the name of a character have to be individually mentioned to satisfy Rule#6, or do lines of "Open to all ___'s" etc. cover it without needing direct input from the to-be-aggressor?
