Actually guys...Ok,sorry,have you stopped flaming me?Right...
I was still talking about the F***ING game!Capisci? So,in FL.The f^%#$@ ships move at the same f^%#$@ speed.Because it's a friggin game,it's barely realistic. Please excuse my language, but I get angry when people flame me and I'm actually right.I know that in reality the ships don't move at the same speed but I wasn't talking about reality...
Read my previous post:
' Wrote:Dude,I know about friction,but it's FL we're talking about.
And that wasn't a suggestion...that ships move at the same speed...it was a fact. They do.
Can you see the part where I say 'it's FL we're talking about'?Yes?Brilliant.
Realism discusions are pointless... i agree most with Jinx, if every planet get's a new subsystem, when will we ever meet the players....

If freelancer was based on reality, then all weapon sounds are wrong, all weapon speeds are wrong, scales of systems are wrong, planets and stars scales are wrong, placement of thrusters on most ships are wrong, and the logic in not putting JGs for example from NY to NT, NB and NL... A lot of things in FL are very far from reality, so sorry if it was me, Etaphreven.
I was generally speaking.But no,don't worry,you didn't do anything wrong.
And thanks for explaining to everyone that Freelancer is anything but realistic.
I personally like the idea of having planetary flight, but I feel that it should be limited to only the capital planets(Or big, populated planets).
It also gives me another idea. Right now learning to play discovery(Or even starting discovery) is rather hard, most people start the game wanting to shoot something but usually find that in their starflier the only thing being shot is themselves...So I was thinking that say, New Yorks atmosphere would become a sort of "Noob" zone, easy missions, easy NPC's etc.
I realize at the moment New York's npc's are relatively weak and you can take them out in a starflier, but with lag, nanobots, shield batteries etc it tends to make it slightly more hard by increasing the time it takes to kill a single ship, making it very tedious and uninviting(Giving the 'everyones better then me!' syndrome) hence why I suggest a noob zone that makes everything easier and simplier(Hell it could even be a 'training ground' for pilots, shooting targets for missions etc.)
Ps. Sorry for somewhat hijacking your thread, your idea brought this one up heh.
