As we all know the player names and the weapon menus don't move around. So... make them transparent.

Before you do anything make sure you back up your Interface folder inside your freelancer>data folder otherwise you will need to reinstall freelancer and discovery if something gets mixed up.
Go to your freelancer folder so you can see data, dlls, exe, ioncross and so forth. The folder you want is DATA.
Open it then look for INTERFACE
Then click on BASESIDE
look for file City_Maneuvertab1.cmp once you find it, delete it
look for file City_Maneuvertab2.cmp once you find it, delete it
look for file City_Maneuvertab3.cmp once you find it, delete it
Go back to the INTERFACE folder.
Look for a folder called HUD
In that folder:
look for file hud_guagewindow.cmp once you find it, delete it
look for file hud_nnbox5.cmp once you find it, delete it
look for file hud_nnbox7.3db once you find it, delete it
look for file hud_nnbox7.cmp once you find it, delete it
look for file hud_numberboxes.cmp once you find it, delete it
look for file hud_shipinfo.cmp once you find it, delete it
look for file hud_steeringarrow.3db once you find it, delete it
look for file hud_target.cmp once you find it, delete it
I'd emphasise on backing up the files you're going to delete before removing them. You'll never know when you want to restore the original HUD.
That said, I do believe there's a wide screen HUD fix for this where the equipment and contacts panels are moved to the farsides of the screen. Poke Cannon about it.

Too late, I already deleted them all. But that's no trouble if you run the game off a ramdrive for better enhancement. Tomorrow they'll all be there again.

I'll want an admin okaying this before I give this a try. The HUD transparancy is certainly something I'd enjoy having. But it is modifying the game files - might be against the rules.
Wide awake in a world that sleeps, enduring thoughts, enduring scenes. The knowledge of what is yet to come.
From a time when all seems lost, from a dead man to a world, without restraint, unafraid and free.
Mostly retired Discovery member. May still visit from time to time.

There is? Damn, last time I checked there was no fix for that. That was a while ago tho.

I'd be very interested in that too. I've done quite a bit of looking and never found anything.
The last I heard about this project was the fact that Josh (Discovery UK, creator of this tweak) was to ask for clearnace with Cannon before allowing DiscoveryGC players to use this.
' Wrote:Not a bad idea. Can you still click into the tabs this way?
@Aes Sidhe: It does affect other players in no way, unlike using wide-screen (earlier targeting-reticule). Why should it be not allowed?
I remember back in the day somebody was offering dedicated textures for Ships... (i always think that Bulldog jet black LFS/Phatom texture will looks a way better) They works on user lvl only.. and If i good remember Cannon was a person who said that is all right to do this if textures are no transparent, so You dont get advantage in Your aiming especially on big ass capital ships.... So I can See same think applied here...
