Possible solution would be makng special hardpoints for those torpedos. Like forward guns for GBs or two cruisers, that have it. Although lots of work and balancing would be needed in that cause.
Exile: That explains.
And one note: Epholl - Epphol - Eppy;)
most of that is just brainstorming anyway - i doubt that igiss really thinks seriously about the majority of ideas - but that doesn t mean you cannot work out ideas - they sometimes lead to brilliant ideas - and who knows...
it would be cool to have some sort of long range weapon....maybe limit it to superships like the dreadnaughts.
not sure what kind of weapon exactly but it would set them apart from the rest.
small ships flying toward a dreadnaught trying to get into range while the big ship just blasts away. small ships will prob. make it through but bigger ships would be toast...
cool idea...not sure how to make it work though
coding question: how far can weapons shoot? missles and guns
well - it would be nice to set the really HUGE battleships apart from the smaller ones. - if you compare a bretonian BB and a liberty dreadnaught to a nomad BB or zoner juggernaut, ... well, the later ones are so much bigger - it would be nice to give them something extra ( nothing really gamebreaking ) just something.
16 nuclear missle launchers... First of all - it would be terribly risky. 70 missles of this type/16 = 4 salvos max. If howver the owner was smart enough to fire one AFTER another - he'd get quite reasonable with the refire. Anywho - I think that kind of ship would get pwnzored literally. By pretty much any ship that has a CD and the reflexes to target one missle. "Incoming missle" lock, CD, POOF goes the enemy shield. Or even worse. I picture nukes as support weapons. A bit like it is with cannonballs against 1.0 fighters. A lucky shot eliminates a pesky foe instantly. A well-placed CD eliminates you instantly. Only that this time - it would be cap vs cap only. A large enough hull damage would defeat the 1.0 weaknes of some ships - wireframes. If such a missle can insta-kill a new battleship, then it can do the same to a 1.0 one. And noone will complain. As I said - I'd put that weapon under the torp/CD slot. I didn't see tthe Yamato have a missle defense system. It relied on the fighters to shoot down the incoming torps. Sort of a give or take - get the chance to instantly kill an enemy capship or be able to defend yourself against such strikes alone, without fighters.
