My question is Why can't say a Independent Pirate be a criminal in one nation and law bideing in another? For example, say I want to rob Kusari blind but then I want to legally sell goods in Britonia? Would I be sanctioned? Is this right?
They had those back in the day of wind and sail, they were called Privateers, and were hired by the crown, to do things they themselves were not 'allowed to do'
I think you would see a freelancer or a mercenary doing such a thing now, not so much the 'pirate' of the sirius sector
for bretonia and kusari, its backed up by official rumors on several stations. - for example, - i can dock in kusari as a gaian. - reasons for that is, gaians are slightly on the good side of kusari, cause they weaken bretonia from within and they dislike outcasts who showed "symphaty" for bretonia.
its all politics ( ghetto politics mind you, nothing too complex ) - a corsair docking in rheinland is ooRP though, cause rheinland and corsairs had an official and quite fierce battle in frankfurt. a corsair docking in liberty however "might" work - if the corsairs had not worked so hard to gain such a bad reputation with liberty.
but since... officially, liberty hasn t got to suffer from corsairs.... they could be able to be allowed docking rights in special cases. with the current situation, with attacks from corsairs sometimes - the liberty forces are not likely to grant them docking rights no matter how much the corsairs are not involved in liberty.
so it depends on the general perception of a faciton within a specific space aswell as the rumors spread on the several stations.
Thanks for responces. What if say a Blood Dragon wants to dock in Rhineland? Does it just come down to whose patroling at the time (RP)? Or would admin sanction this person on principle (Game mechanics)?
Or do you think the admin would even look into or question the person as to why before passing judgement?
unfortunately, that is not possible, as Blood Dragon disrupt commercial flows in kusari from everyone, including Rheinland convoy, and some dragons player actually dares go as far as sigma 13 jumphole to new berlin, sometime going even in new berlin.
so, rheinland doesnt like the dragons really. and they are a militaristic fascist nation, so its a big no on pirates.
Roger that Xing, I admit I am not up to speed on Dragon politics I just shoot them or avoid them, being they are indiscrimanate killers that hide behind self delugetions of Honor and purpose. Sorry for my RP opinion:$
However I was just trying to test wether this was a RP restriction or a Admin restriction. I guess my example is not the best here. Blood dragon and Liberty, if say the Blood Dragon flees to Liberty and needs resupply?
Thanks though it makes me think that RP has much more to do with it, just seeing if anyone has any stories to use as example of why or how this is OK or not.
that'd be very strange, as they technically could resuply at Ames in a worst scenario case.
I think BD despise liberty enough to never go there - and since they strike at liberty convoys as well...
But lets put in another example: Bundschuh of Rheinland. Fighting against the fascist regime, they shouldn't be enemies of anyone besides Rheinland. Moreover, they should actually be friendly to Liberty, due to the recent falling out between Liberty and Rheinland. So, theoretically, if chased they should be able to seek asylum in Liberty without being shot at, and even dock at their bases for resupply, am I right?
i think its OK when a bundschuh docks on a liberty base. - but he must behave well, cause he is still unlawful - not unlawful in liberty - but unlawful enough to be watched closely. that applies to most unlawfuls that are extremely limited in their space and cause.
for example, hackers would be OK in bretonia - if they had not allied with mollys which makes them hostile there. mollys might be fine in liberty - but after the massive attacks they are most probably hostile now. farmers alliance is pretty much as welcome in liberty as junkers.
Could we have a little thinking outside of the reputation board box here please. Just because your rep allows
you to dock somewhere, doesn't mean it falls into a roleplay situation. Corsairs docking on New Berlin is pretty
black and white when it comes to a 'things not to do' scenario though ...
The rest would have to be thought through very carefully considering all the existing factions here, NPC and
player ones, just as long as it falls into the bounds of some credibility.
