I am not happy! I go on a diplomatic mission and I get people like you passing through our system. I received a report of you pirating in Baffin near the Coronado. You also did this to a member of a group that are friends of mine.
Proof uploading: Proof.
For your own records, here is a copy of our laws. I suggest you read them: Laws.
So, McCloud, you now have 24 hours to respond and explain yourself. I will not accept that "he ran to Baffin" as so many pirates claim. I also will not accept that you didn't know the law as "Ignorance of the law is no excuse." Until you seek repentance, you are banned from Baffin space.
Failure to respond in 24 hours will result in a bounty being placed upon your head. You are also banned from Baffin space and I will get the word out to other Zoners, especially when you bought that Virage at a Zoner base as we Zoners are the only ones who sell it.
If you wish repentence, you will pay a 10 million credit fine to: [TAZ]Temple.Fund
You will also pay back the 4 million credits you took from the transport: OSI-Fool's.Errand
Proof of both transactions will be required.
Mr. McCloud, you are on the clock. Your fate is in your own hands.
This is interesting. Two days in, and i'm already getting messages like this... Hopefully they'll get the message. I suppose I'll reply.
Attention Zoners:
Well, you ask me not to tell you he fled to Baffin. In that case, you ask me to not speak the truth. I will say it: Outside Barrier Gate, I repeatedly asked him to halt. He didn't. I caught up to him just on the other side of Coronado, where we talked.
I really don't like the term you used, "Pirating". I did not coerce him into paying, I merely asked him if he was interested in my lates Life and Ship Insurance bundle. There was no mention of hurting him in any way, shape, or form. I merely asked what he valued more, his little bit of money, or his ship and life. I told him if he payed, I would make sure other pirates left him alone. If he would have simply declined, he would have been on his way, unharmed.
I doubt I could have even done any serious harm to him! My Virage is designed for anti fighter work. I don't even have a Cruise Disruptor! I couldn't have stopped him if I wanted to! He stopped voluntarily.
On another matter, i did not buy this Virage from any Zoner. I bought it from another person for a modest price of 15million SC. He gave me the ship, but the papers were so bad, I couldn't even land on Freeports! every time I try they turn me away!
So, clearly I am no pirate, mearly an insurance salesman. This is all a misunderstanding, and I am trying to fix the papers to allow me to land on your wonderful Freeports.
You, sir, are twisting the facts, trying to get out of a bad situation with OSI and the TAZ.
Here is a partial transcript of our conversation, during your so-called "sales pitch".
Separate of whatever punishment the TAZ choose to inflict on you, be aware that OSI has placed a bounty on your head. Hopefully, in light of this testimony, the TAZ's decision to ban you will stand, and hopefully they will place a similar bounty on you as well.
Also, you might want to re-think your future in "insurance sales".
Regards,
Grim Galore

Well, Mr. McCloud, by what I was just sent, you didn't sound to be selling insurance when you ask "What's worth more? That & mil or your ship?" That is piracy! Insurance bundle? Insurance salesman are pirates in my book!
My offer still stands. Pay the fine or I'll pad the bounty. If you must pirate, do it in a ship not sold by the Zoners and do it out of Baffin....and I don't give a damn if someone gets into Baffin, you WILL cease fire.
*Reads message* Bounty from OSI, yadda yadda yadda, oh look, a small part of what we talked about. Hm, yes, exactly. I charged seven mil. i still never threatened him at all. Why don't they see that? I'll message them I suppose.
My Dearest Zoners:
I twist the facts you say? I think this matter is rather simple: you are immediately prejudiced against me. For this fact, despite having no proof that the person in question was pirated, merely sold an insurance policy that I have the liberty to uphold, you decide that one of yours was wronged for some odd reason, instantly you are aginst me without hearing both sides with an open and impartial mind. I am not twisting the facts, I am shedding light on the twisted story that your man told you in order to instantly paint me in a bad light. Thus, once he reported to you of his so called *pirating* you took the immediate measures of hostility, and in your concious and subconcious mind, simultaneously refuse to grant for valid anything I might say. After all, who would you belive? Your own man, or a so called *pirate*. I cannot help that the man I bought this ship from had such bad papers, but the title *pirate* really has no correlation to me.
I would be happy to refund his insurance policy, of course this means he will no longer benefit from it, especially because it was a one payment a month policy that ends when he had payed enough to cover the ship he was flying that lasts as long as his ship had that tag, but oh well.
As for the bounty, I feel it is completely rediculous. no one was harmed in any way, or even threatened with harm in any way. As I said before, he could have simply refused and he would have been on his way. I would not even be abled to cause any serious damage to his ship in the first place, and as I mentioned before, I couldn't have forced him to stop if I wanted to.
I had a healthy respect and admiration for the Zoners. I would have thought that with the dangerous systems you fly through and everything that you would be good customers to sell to.
Anyway, I will happily refund the insurance down payment of 4 million SC.
To avoid any possible future miscommunications, know this ahead of time: OSI, Inc. has it's own insurance underwriters.
But thank you for your concern.
If you wish to pursue any future business negotiations with OSI, I suggest you send an information packet to our Headquarters offices on Freeport 14, addressed to our CEO.
I also suggest you send a business card in advance of your packet.
Sincerely,
Capt. Grim Galore

Well, at least they didn't wake me up for this one.
*reads message*
to avoid any further concerns, yadda yadda yadda, thank you for concern...
Hm? Whos zis? Sarah? I thought I was dealing with Doc.
Dear Doc,
I promise to stay out of Baffin, and I am sorry for any trouble i have caused, but to put it frankly, i haven't the 10mil to pay you. This man was my first customer. I am sure that as rational men we can see that no harm was done, or threatened, or intended. I am sending the 4million SC to OSI-Fool's.Errand. I will no longer enter Baffin, or bother any of your members. But as of yet, I canot afford the 10mil you ask. I am sure this can be overlooked. If not, I may have to resort to piracy!
Your refund payment has been received by me. This information will be forwarded to OSI HQ. I am sure that the Bounty decision will be re-evaluated by our directors.
Your bounty with the TAZ is a separate matter, of course.
Regards,
Capt. Grim Galore
