A data burst is recieved carrying the following information...

Name: Frederick Graham

Age: 41

Employment/History:
Prieviously an Order agent stationed on the Trident under Captain Marshal, Graham was dishonorably discharged for possession of cardamine while on active duty. After vandalising a couple of bombers, Graham made his escape on a stolen fighter to Freeport 11, where he began looking for work of any sort, be it lawful or otherwise.


A man's face flickers onto the screen. He looks as if he was once a handsome and well-groomed man, though his face is now covered in scars from countless bar fights. He takes a drink from a bottle of whiskey, then begins talking.


"I hear you're looking for people with combat experience. That's me. I was the ace back when I was with the 63rd. Not that I miss those days or anything.
I tend to scare off most potential employers these days. Seems coming to an interview drunk doesn't end well. Those guys are pansies. You guys don't seem to be pansies." He takes another drink. "Besides, I hear you guys get all the action these days. I'm on my way to Barrier Gate now, I hope to get a reply by the time I arrive."



The transmission cuts off

How this message got to my desk, I will never know. Nor do I care to be perfectly honest, I have more important stuff to deal with. But I might as well give you some relevant information, since I am going to the trouble of sending this reply.

Two things Mister Graham before you arrive.

1. Do not show up drunk.
2. We may not be as strict as your previous...employer, but we do have rules.
Punishment for breaking said rules can and will be worse than a measly Dishonorable Discharge. You have been warned.

After a bit of frustration with the dock workers on Barrier Gate, Graham finally managed to land his fighter in the bay. Taking a look at his watch, he realised he didn't have much time before the Raider transport left. Setting out for docking collar five, he tossed the keys to his eagle to a random dock worker.

"It's yours, take care of it."

Leaving the bewildered man behind, Graham broke into a run, arriving at the transport with seconds to spare.

The security guard at the airlock was puzzled when a very tired and exhausted Man came running up to the door, then dismissed it as just another hopeful applying for the Vagrant Raiders.

"Frederick C. Graham, at your service. Thought for sure I'd miss the transport..."

[Vagrant Raiders]

The Transport aint goin anywhere for a while. Don't know where you heard that. Get inside, and wait till yer names called. No funny business, or you will be kicked out a airlock by yours truly.

Graham stared blankly at the man for a few seconds, then stepped into the ship with a heavy sigh.

[Vagrant Raiders]

The security guard chuckled slightly after Graham was out of earshot

Whoops. Damn I love mis-information.

Soon after F. Graham sat down, A man walked into the waiting area flanked by a pair of heavily armed men, who pointed at one of the recruits. The Soldiers leveled their assault Rifles and shred the recruit with automatic fire before he could even stand up.

We don't like people who lie. Clean this up.

The two soldiers started dragging the limp corpse of the dead recruit down the hallway, out of sight. a faint "whoosh" is heard as the body is flushed into space. The man pointed at Frederick.

You. Your up. Office B. And don't slip on the blood.

Graham jumped a bit at the sudden violence, frightened by the brutality the Raiders had shown. No, not frightened, he reminded himself, cautious. With his ego healed, Graham set off towards the office with the man, being careful not to step in the puddle of blood.
