The Idea came me as i lay in my bed. How about a new cargo good, called tourists? We have VIP, we have Passengers, but nothing of those fills in in thr role of Tourists.
They should be available at every Planet expect Malta (who would like to have an Outcast as tourist?), Detroit, Junyo and Kurilen, as these 3 planets are planets where the people work on. And of course also not on Curacao and Baden Baden, as these 2 planets are Spa and Cruise owned. They should bring good prices on every Spa & Cruises station, means the 2 mentioned planets and on Luxury Liners.
How do you think about it?
In a brilliant tactical movement, i charged backwards.
um ... why not? maybe it could be interesting to have different tourists for each house. so they would all love to get to the spa&cruise bases but also be ok with visiting a diffrent house. as a libertarian for exmaple i would love to visit new london ;)
but of course it would be funnier if you could mount them on a Luxury Liner so they would produce some money for 2-3 minutes if you are close to a sight :D
uhh, don't think that would be possible, and if i'd say they shouldn't produce much. Otherwise everyone buys a Liner and sits near a sights doing nothing:P

I've always found passengers and VIPs themselves to be pretty fishy. Why do these guys pay so well to travel in only one direction? Doesn't anybody ever go home? And then there's the issue of those clown car Starfliers that somehow carry 21 people.
But seriously, "passenger" covers a lot of ground. Many of them probably are people on vacations. Others are business travellers. Some might even be fugitives trying to get as far away from the core systems as possible. I'd rather see a lot of the dead commodities like air and water become useful before adding in any more.
Been proposing a circular model of passengers for a while: Vacationers, VIP (business men), Passengers.
Takes scaling the VIP back a bit, or making all the human cargo except for slaves take more cargospace...
Anyway, population centers attract passengers, who come from places of businses (stations, some major worlds) and vacation spots (OSC bases, the nicer planets), Business centers attract Business men/VIP, who come from population centers (large worlds or stations) or vacation spots (osc, nicer planets.) and Vacation spots attract vacationers, who come from population centers and places of business.
Would make a solid, workable setup for liners.
Edit: I, also, enjoy the hats on star trek people.
is there any possibility to introduce a diffrent kind of cargo hold which only allows people to be transported?
because it feels kind of strange to have tons of people in the cargo containers of a train or whale =/
//ot: at some sort of frustrating commedy-site that claimed to be funny. at least i found one entertaining pic - so my precious time wasnt completely wasted ;D
A while back it was proposed to make all humans (possibly excepting slaves) take up multiple cargo units like the vip, and worth a proportionately increased amount. So, that way, a LTrain can only move 500 people, which I find acceptable.
