I read that the Liberty Dread is an OP ship and wanted to try it out:-) So I have a few questions:
1) I was told the LNS- tag is open, but when I do a rename, it asks for a password. What's up with that?
2) What is the best loadout for an all-purpose Liberty Dread? Yes I know there is no "perfect" loadout, and true all-purpose is not an option with caps, but any advice on what sort of works in that direction? I'd like to use two flaks as I never really used them before.
3) Are there any good places to do missions involving other caps / hostile cap NPC spawn areas?
Thanks, I bet most of it is already to be found somewhere on the forum, but I am just too lazy:-)

and dread isnt OP even if it wasnt
have your choices of LNS open tag thats disorganized and useless
or LN tag thats disorganized and useless
pvp flak also useless since no one stupid enough to get in range
but honestly IMHO good loadout depends on what your fighting.....
im happy with basing my loadout on energy use but thats personal preference
and once in a cap NPC's are "useless" as well
rename thing is apparently new but easily avoided by making a new ship with name you want
should do that anyway rep wise
enjoy and good luck
You are indeed evil, Spock. Here I was, all happy with my OP ship only to find out it's a scrapheap:-)
Seriously though, an LNS open tag is of more use than no tag at all. So any clues on how I get that working?
And also someone will be stupid enough to get close enough - I know I do when I am in a bomber, hehe.
And no, I will not make a new character and buy a dread brand new just to get the exact name I want...
Any clues on loadout though? I had solaris' (both kinds) on a Ranseur for a while, but to me they sucked - I might be doing something wrong or Libdread turret placement might be different? That's the sort of advice I am looking for. Are secondaries enough to fight off the lone bomber? How many should I have? Is the powercore suitable for a heavy mortar etc.?
I've never heard of a password for renaming a char, and I just used the function yesterday.
I've never heard of a renameme lock either. Sounds like some sort of bug.
EDIT: Wait, was the char recently moved? That might have something to do with it. Perhaps you have to wait a certain amount of time to rename a char that was recently moved? That's the only thing I can think of....
EDIT2: I've just been informed that the movechar command doesn't activate the 7 day rename time limit....so I'm out of ideas.:(
' Wrote:Is there a renamecode set on the ship? I don't even know if such a thing exists...
I haven't got the faintest clue. It just said something about the name being locked and a password required, I wrote an LNS guy who was online, he said it was open but he heard similar reports about password protection previously.
Edit: Yeah I renamed a million times before. A couple of times today too on other characters, in fact (this ship is a brand new used ship and just moved to my account today). Never seen this, and figured it had to do with the LNS- part somehow
