Really? As I recall it NPC caps didnt use to behave like this against players hostile to their respective Guard factions? Doesn't most characters have a hostile relation towards the various Guard factions by default (I mean default rep when creating a new character)?
k, since I have lot of experience in repping junker ship, I think your problem are begin at wrong repping method, your ship gained its junker IFF not by bribing but by mission, and junker have 3 type of mission, against LR, xenos and bunter, apparantely, your was made by mission against bunter, and your current reps towards house navy are neutral. Bunter are allied to house navy, so when you encounter any bunter, any neutral faction allied to bunter will automatically turn hostile on you, so the only way to fix this is by taking bunter bribes, this will affect your junker reps, but you can fix it by taking mission against xenos only.
I didn't rep the ship, and I am not sure it was mission repped (I bought it used) since only 3 missions has been played on it according to the repsheet. Might be wrong. And I know I can shoot Xenos, that is not really the issue - I would just like bunters to be hostile towards me without police/military turning hostile all the time.
Issue is, in 4.85 hostile bunters didn't turn house military and police against you. I am 99,9% sure of this. Also in 4.85 the BS patrols you would see in "regular" house space, like New York, would not belong to the Guard faction, and would not be hostile, even if your rep towards military Guards is red. I am also 99,9% sure of this.
It seems in 86, bunter have more "closer" relationship with house lawful, and this affect your reps towads house lawful, I do have Junker ship who rep to bunter in 85, and I do believe it never affect my reps towards house lawful in every encounter with bunter
No this means that in 4.86 the BH are on friendlier terms with the Military than in 4.85.
So if you don't wanto get killed by the navy everytime a BH is around you have to chance your rep to neutral with the BH.

Yeah did that now, shot xenos and now everyone is happy. Just sucks a little though - being a shady character when not in house space, it seemed appropriate with bunters on my back... Why this change in bunter status?
Get LSF neutral/green to. Also you can shoot unioners which you are hostile to already near Sig13 JH in NB and that will make alot happy with you. Right now my junker is hostile Unioners/bundies only. All navies green, all other unlawfuls neutral. No one shoots at my ship.
