Well uhm, not exactly spikes, but... My fps count is acting weird just when I'm looking at nebulae - and by "acting weird" I mean it jumps from steady 60 to steady 30 - exactly halving itself, pretty much every time I'm looking at most of the nebula from within say, 20k. When I enter the nebula, it jumps back to 60.
Does anyone have a slightest clue as to why that would happen. I do have an outdated computer, but it's still weird how... Predictable and exact the fps drops are.

you really think that when is fl running on one core only, and nothing other is running, that one core is not enough to run the game without fps drops ?
