Check the base info page. Press the (i) icon in the top right corner. If the "Repair Status: OK" then the base has the commodities to repair itself and/or is doing so.

Will the repair rate be slower (longer lasting) if you have all three repair commodities compared to just one? Like, right now we just use robotics.. say, 3k for example. But if we were to have 1k basic alloy, 1k robotics, 1k ship hull pannels, does the base last longer before taking damage?

Hmm, more yes than no. It repairs itself faster if it is being attacked.
It lasts longer if it is not being attacked.
I would recommend holding mostly basic alloy to deal with general maintenance as cheaply as possible and then some of the other two to deal with the situation where a base is under attack.

Can you maybe elaborate on how the basic alloy priority works?
Like, every 16 seconds, it checks for damage. It sees damage, applies basic alloy repairs. Then if there's still damage, applies robotics repairs. If there's still damage, applies hull panels repairs.
Is that about right? Hull panels take up 2 units of cargo space so I'd hope they get used last..

Yep, that's exactly right. Further more it will repeat this whole loop once for every level of base, stopping if there's no damage to repair.

So it repairs every 16 seconds regardless of the amount of damage that the station has sustained?
As in, it will use 1 repair commodity at least every 16 seconds regardless of it being shot or not?

Waaaitaminute. So a leveled up base doesn't actually heal more per unit of stuff used, it just is able to heal itself more per 16-second-check by using more resources?
