Well then heres my question because it seems like my name is filling up the rules section at the moment anyway, is Skype RP or OCC because as far as I'm aware its only used for OCC purposes because after trying to fox my way out a difficult situation with a bunch of BAF people being made impossible by the OCC communications of skype.
So heres what happened I led some pirates to an ore filled titanic it wouldn't pay up so it died fortunatly a junker was in the area so the pirates got paid, junker came picked up the ore and left. Moments later BAF came and started shooting me up then they metagamed me saying that I did pirate it even though it my ID clearly states a freelancer. Its just that they weren't there to know that I was involved. After I died i asked what type of coms was he using because I'm sure that in an RP situation your ment to find out who is the pirate first and we didn't leave any witnesses to tell them it was me.
Oh and i got a pic of someone saying its a RP comms channel

Emergency skype chats are OORP. Anyone who says they are inRP is a tool. If they were inRP then you would use your characters name to say anything in it or ask for help. No one does that.
As to why they shot you, they could have been informed in multiple ways, be it an emergency beacon from the ship that was shot down or whatever else.
Skype channels are OOC. Roleplay is defined as taking place on the forums or in-game. Anything done on Skype is considered OOC, and this includes emergency channels. The only sort of RP that can be done on Skype is writing collaborative stories on Skype, since the forums don't work well for two+ characters doing a dialogue.
That said, the BAF could've shot you anyway, since you've been listed as an enemy of the crown for 2 years. I know, I was the one that put that decree in place after your (several) acts of aggression.
Anyway, what transpired could be construed as metagaming on the part of the BAF|.

You misunderstood me. Existence of skype is explained inRP environment as "Security Channels" , or something like that. It's just mentioned, to justify knowledge about pirates camping gate, incoming navy/traders etc. Skype isn't RP tool. On that same basis admins are roleplayed as "Gods of Sirius" , and restarts as "Ion Storms".
I just normally make a channel, first discuss there what's gonna be RP'ed make a little line where the RP starts, do RP then close it when RP is done and continue oorply.
Works for me.
If you can show inRP logs of skype.
I don't see why that can't be used as RP background.
Since it could as well have been in-game pm's.
Edit: But don't worry, everyone does it, its not just you.
I never worried about it, I RP it as inRP Police/navy/Pirate/<putyourgroup> emergency channels. Because I suspect 1000 years in the future people have some "Police phone number / quick contact to other gangsters".
