Question is - since it was my first encounter with something like this - is this an abuse if the base was half way HIDDEN in the planet..I mean it was placed so half of docking bays were INSIDE the planet. Nothing small couldn't dock on the base without ramming into atmopshere. Only transports and caps could dock due to their docking spot being moved more in front and they ability to actualy bounce from the planets...
Right - so don't consider this a threat to report anyone - i just want admin clarification if that is an abuse or it's just base builder being clever cause the base is hidden ... it's possible to destroy it still but yeah I am just afraid that someone will get to a point when it won't be possible...
That is not completely within the planet, fighters can dock on it (from the looks of it they can instadock too), and caps can shoot it. I'm going to say no.
EDIT: For cores 1 and 2 anyway. 3+ would have to be looked at differently...
This brings an interesting question to mind... is it possible to place a player-owned base in such a manner that the majority of the base is hidden inside of an existing static asteroid?
' Wrote:Seems more like a mistake to me rather then a deliberate attempt at abuse. Would be cool to see someone use that idea to make an asteroid base though.
Having made this happen to a base before, I can tell you it is far more likely to be an accident than on purpose. Bases are supposed to spawn 200m in front of you, but they actually spawn far more than 200m center to center.

4 diffrent people tried both quick docking and docking normal with all possible docking bays - NO - all rammed the planet while the cinematics of docking or when trying to quick dock..if it's possible it's HARD AS HELL. I have my own base I know the quick docking spot - I tried it.
EDIT: Oh and I didn't say we couldn't shoot it - we could and we did and it's not there anymore.
If a base is situated just so in an equally large or larger object then no party would be able to dock with it? Thus, the base would die due to no one feeding it.
