You gotta be careful with the repair beam though....negative damage is an instakill:crazy:

It's a shame Igiss wont let cloaking devices in the mod, it'd be so cool to actually stealth around enemy systems instead of having to 'cheat' by flying 14k over the standard plane to remain undetected =/
EDIT:
Even if it were only for select ships - perhaps a few different prototype battleships and other capships which have fewer turrets and less armor than their counterparts, but come with a cloaking device that cant be traded/used on other ships.
Ehm...hate to rain on the parade, ladies and gents, but a Battleship's armor upgrade multiplies its base armor, assuming you're a cheapskate and only go for the MK VI, by three times. Somebody with more patience or possibly some b*tches to trade for him will pay for a MK VII or VIII, which multiply by three-and-a-half and four times respectively. As it stands, any Battleship without an armor upgrade and a bigger powerplant will be slaughtered because there is no weapon in the game capable of putting out damage fast enough to take advantage of a powercore that large over an armor upgrade. If two Battleships put out damage at the same rate the one without the armor will likely be destroyed before the armored one exhausts its powerplant.

bombers must not get a powerupgrade, cause they might be able to fire 2 supernovas then - thats too much for a ship of that size and agility.
actually, all the ships are balanced for the powercore they have. - altering that will cause a lot of chaos in terms of balance, i wouldn t recommend that.

Hmm that never crossed my mind. Balance oh the crazy chaotic balance.
What would be nice is an upgrade to FL's graphics.
There are plenty of mods out there that have improved on FL's graphics, even just by using simple techniques. (Crossfire for example)
Or something like so:
Personally i like the idea of enegy-boosters, but i think that they should be for LFs only/specially, because almost every ship class has an offensive advantage, except for LFs (besides their agility), and a continous fire for them would be just great. It could probably also make them more popular.

I dont need Cardamine, really i can stop anytime i want. Why is there an inhaler in my ship? errr... it was a gift...
' Wrote:Oh man... it'd be awesome if the repair ship had a beam weapon to fix hull/shield damage on friendly ships...
I second that. In fact, i'd give up all my gunboats for an operational repair ship. Almost every mmo i've ever played i was a priest or healer. Its my favorite thing ever. Guess i'm gonna have to stick to mining for now though, lol..
About the energy boosters, a long time ago i played the TNG mod, and it had all that stuff, energy regen upgrades, energy capacity upgrades, and similar for shields and hull. If i remember correctly, many ships had multiple slots for such things, but i think 2 slots was the norm for most midrange ships. I remember peeps using all manor of combos, i tried a few combos and eventually ended up with dual energy regens.
' Wrote:What about the Repair ship in Disco? Apparantly it has a working repair gun.
the repair ships we have in this mod right now have no repair guns, they just store excessive amounts of bots/bats that can be dropped in the middle of combat for allied players to pick up. Problem is... the enemy can pick them up just as easily.
