I am pleased to inform you, that the old server has left the Czech republic, and currently has reached Dresden, Germany.
There is approximately 500 kilometers (310.685596 miles for you decimal challenged lot across the pond) left of its journey to Copenhagen, so its ETA of Thursday or Friday seems to hold.
Expect unscheduled server downtime in the evening of one of those days (GMT), when the switchover is made.

Cannon, mind sharing how you plan on getting simultaneous universes working? If one server's at 200/200 and someone crosses the border to the full server, what will happen?
My guess is that the jumpgates and holes to the other side of the split universe will be blocked, in the same manner as the jumpgates are blocked from being used to yo-yo back and forth between systems now.
I've noticed a bunch of rumors running around including concerns that the server will never return. This is not true. The server will return as soon as possible. Once it does we probably will be attacked again and we will do what it takes to return again.
I don't think I could afford to pay a regular fee. I've donated to the server every now and again what I had, but I'm saving up for university, and of course...
what about the BOOZE?!?!?!
All joking aside, if Freelancer became pay to play I would most likely leave.
