The idea was for it to be a ship that only the queen's personal guard use =P

I would hope players would use discretion with a ship like that... we shouldnt be seeing every other BPA and BAF player in one of them.

To me, that would constitute anyone with a BAF Guard IFF and BAF ID, or a member of the QCXX

I like it. I would also add a little mass to the hull, but other than that I have no objections.

Maybe a minor one to the name. "Phalanx" doesn't fit the naming much (but neither does Challenger, so who really cares).
The Bretonia LFs are named after cavalry (Cavalier, Hussar), HFs after knights in general (Crusader, Templar) and transports after horses (Clydesdale, Percheron). An infantry formation is close, but not exactly there. I could live with the name, but it would be wonderful if a better fitting could be found.

Hard to decide if it belongs to the "cavalry" or "knights" line. I would choose cavalry, because it has closer to the Cavalier in design. I didn't find many useful names, I will list the silly ones too:
Dragoon
Cuirassier
Cataphract
Charioteer (could be seen as cavalry)
(shame the Lancer is taken)

and one knight order:
Hospitaller

Maybe I am just being silly, who knows...

I think Phalanx is a good name, however Marvin's post brought the name Paladin to light.

Here are some blatant Wiki rips:

Quote:The term paladin was first used in Ancient Rome for a chamberlain of the Emperor, and also for the imperial palace guard

Quote:In 19th century Britain and Germany, paladin was an official rank and considered an honorary title for one in service of the emperors.

Quote:The official title has gone out of fashion, but the word "paladin" is still used to describe a benevolent, heroic champion, or the defender of a good cause.

It's your choice, but those seem pretty fitting to me.

That is all of course if that name isn't already taken.

That's a nice one! And the description fits astonishingly well. I really didn't think of that one...:$I am glad my post had some, albeit little, positive value:)

I don't have a problem with Phalanx, it is a nice name for this ship. I just thought we can think of some that would follow the pattern.

uh, one notice: -massive use of spare parts....

it looks good, but I'll bet its filled with hundreds if not thousands of useless poly.
and the fact it will really be a headache to texture.
