of course its an exploit in a negative sense - knowing AND using such weak spots. - unless all ships had some, its a serious imbalance. - like firing at an osiris with the 4.83 flak cannons - no one would have done it to a custom battleship - but only cause the osiris would take ten times the damage people did it.
Well if its an exploit in the nagative sense. Then isnt it an exploit people using explosives against vanilla fighters.
Quote:while exploiting a weak spot might be used as a RP element, it creates an unfair advantage of custom ships over non custom ships. - especially since vanilla capships are not balanced upwards towards custom capships - like vanilla fighters are compared to non vanilla fighters.
And the Vanilla fighters may be upgraded in agility and such but this dose not remove the one shot kill with explosives.
I think what we forget here is these things are not an exploit useing them to kill a ship. This is the way the game was supposed to be played. Its useing non vanila ships thats the exploit.
Just my opinion Jinx. I know what you are saying and it is true in a way. But this is the way i see it.
edit: never mind. - its a very subjective matter. - and i admit, i use explosives against vanilla fighters cause i know i can blow them up easily. ( mind, i use them against custom fighters all the same, cause nothing beats the desperate enemy to suicide into a planet, cause he lost all his precious equipment while his ship is still intact and flying )
A funny thing on this topic... I fly a kusari gunboat on my hogosha character, and I actually have to 'fear' sunslayer, starkiller, and nova torpedoes more than I do the supernova cannon. The cannon doesnt cause component damage to vanilla ships like the others because it's an energy weapon, not an explosive.
