How many and what ships can you who consider yourselves decent at gunboats turn into blues while using a gunboat, provided that they know what they are doing too? What setup is good for what?
2-3 bombers with SNAC+EMP, or maybe one heavy bomber with a ASURAS+SNAC and 2 bombers with normal configs. This will work for mostly all gbs. Much easier if the gb does not have Solaris.
EDIT: I am a very bad gb player, but I have known good gb players to hold out for long against a swarm of snubs. Unless the snubs do something stupid, they won't get killed. Gunboats with Solaris are better at killing bombers.

If the people you are fighting are decent, you'll have a hard time. Snub pilots know to thrust away. A gunboat is mostly suited for douchebag-kills, killing nubs or other ships of same class and larger. By douchebag kills I mean showing up to an ongoing snub-brawl and shooting Solaris' and razors at everyone while they are shouting at you to go away and spoil someone else's fun. If the snubs are stubborn, or if they are involved in a particularly good brawl, they'll keep fighting each other, giving you the chance to score some kills. Nubs don't know to fly away, so you might get some of those as well.
For gunboat vs gunboat, I suppose heavier ones are better than lighter ones, i.e. Churchill is King.
Not being a gunboat pro by any means, I'd still stick razors on it - it works as a deterrent and forces any snubs you come across into fighting more defensively, even if you aren't particularly good with the razor.
