Biography
Born in 790 A.S, Ralf had been raised in well family in the heart of Rhein House. Both parents, being Rheinwehr officers, have set him an example for the rest of his life. Duty, honor, courage - were more than words but virtues that helped him to overcame school and military academy with ease. Minimal teenage rebelism left him deaf to agitation of groups such as Hessian, Alster Union or Die Weiße Rose, that stated obvious problems in Rheinland society. That decision led Ralf to face those by himself - Firstly by fighting Liberty Navals at Hamburg and New Hampshire as his first "on-field" experience, and secondly engaging against Kusari Naval pilots at Sigmas frontlines. These two conflicts left a mark on him: Seeing his recent friends that he made in millitary burn alive in bright-green flames due to escape pods malfunction, acts of brutality, corruption and bribery, biased operations by high command have cruelly tested his beliefs.Peacefull live being to alien for Ralf and inability to follow absurd orders left him with a desire to find a new cause to fight for.

Die Weiße Rose Message Received - 27-02-827 To: Ralf Akkerman Sender: Holger Madsen Subject: Your application to the DWR has been approved
Herr Akkerman,
My name is Holger Madsen, I am the Oberst of the Die Weiße Rose movement.
Our recruitment officer has given your application to my hands as you have a pretty unusual background. Your family before have had never been attached to the DWR nor the Bunschun movement as well, however, you faced the cruelty of Rheinwehr during the two last wars they brought to our Fatherland and I believe you understand why do we want the situation change. We are welcome you in the ranks of the Die Weiße Rose. You are granted to a rank of Rekrut. Arrive at the Newport station in Sigma-13 as soon as possible to meet our men there. They will bring you to the nearest station where is your new life in the DWR will begin.
Make our movement proud of you and your achievements.

Biography
Despite the von my father has recently been trying to reclaim for our last name, I was born among the working class and raised on Planet Hamburg. I won't ever forget the small and kind of obsolete appartment I used to live in with my parents and my sister. It was located in a poor neighborhood, quickly built to accomodate Republican Shipping employees. Well, accomodate... rather stockpile. We could literally speak with the family next door through the wall.
Not that a lot of fun was to be had outside either, and my parents were quite busy running their modest grocery store. As you may imagine, boredom leads to laziness and laziness leads to stupid actions. I was part of a street gang since I was 14 or 15. Our main activities consisted in picking fights with other groups and "home-brewing" our own drugs. Not that there were many substances besides painkillers and alcohol in them, but apparently young people liked to heat our stuff inside aluminium cups and inhale the vapor. Allegedly made our customers high, but I suspected them to be posers. Until that day when a kid with a pre-existing condition fell into a deep coma for three weeks, which put us in huge trouble. As I was still underage, my parents could have been held responsible by the judge, who however unexpectedly dismissed the case. I wasn't straight away off the hook though, and a policeman came home every day to speak with me and check if I was behaving well.
That was definitely a turning point in my life. From then on, I started studying seriously, got my Abitur and moved to Tegel, New Berlin, right after. There I graduated in engineering, with a specialisation in on-board computer systems. I also took Spanish classes, which helped defusing a bit of tension during my various encounters with Corsairs as a transport captain. After a period as a freelancer, I was hired by Daumann. My comfortable position and salary did not prevent me from being caught in the crossfire many times during the last war, and I still bear scars from those incidents. After a GMG bomber pilot spared me, somehow understanding not all Rheinlanders were too happy with this pointless conflict, I started to wonder if "our" enemies were really the soulless beings we were urged (brainwashed?) to believe.
In the same month, my sister Zita, a police officer, met one of your activists during a patrol. They spoke a lot, and in the end, she let the "wrongdoer" go. A couple of weeks later, she invited me for dinner and showed me the PNR propaganda she subsequently received. Most of it was utterly convincing, especially the part on Planet Nuremberg, that I visited frequently for professional reasons. Progressively shifting from the shallow monarchist convictions of a ruined noble family to the Bundschuh views was some kind of a secret conversion for us. I can't prove it, but I suppose I was being closely watched by some government service from that time on. I finally lost my job for no valid reason. And I remembered that there are better ways to serve our fellow Rheinlanders than blindly obeying a regime and corporations that crush people like us.
Psychological profiling
What do you think makes us special?
Trying to see every issue from the eyes of common people, suggesting realistic solutions through reasonable means. Your clear stance on blind and pointless political violence. Your will to implement an actual democracy in Rheinland, unlike other revolutionary projects that would most probably decay into dictatorship.
How difficult would it be for you to kill a Rheinlander?
I tried never to kill when assaulted as a transport captain, I always ordered my gunners to disable our attackers or entice them into fleeing. Killing is definetely something I wouldn't enjoy doing for sure, but I guess you have no choice in certain situations.
What would you personally change about the Weiße Rose?
I would try to improve its public image among the lower and middle classes by not targeting such people. The movement should also aim to be legalized again, as winning elections is its best option to seize power, but I'm confident you didn't need me to figure it out.
Is there anything else you want to tell us?
Although I used to fly snubcraft during my student years, now my skills are a bit rusty. Should be enough for self-defence. I may feel a bit sick in the beginning. Also, like many people with my social background, I may have a rude behaviour on occasions without intending it.

Herr Karlsohn,
My name is Wilfried Lichtenberg and I am the active generaloberst of Die Weiße Rose. You have pretty rich background, I give you that, and I am honestly happy to see person like you, applying to join our ranks. You have a lot of ups and downs and while many other people would prefer to keep their eyes closed, forget everything and move on, you saw the truth about rotting and corrupted state. Your skills of transport captain will be surely handy for our logistics division. Though, I guess, that you will need a bit of additional basic training on fighters.
With this, I'm happy to say, that you are accepted into the movement.

Biography
Born during the pre-nomad era, Christoph followed in his father's footsteps and signed up to join the RFP, and seek to protect Rheinland from pirates, miscreants, terrorists and foreign invaders. Christoph took orders as any other officer of the law would, but through interactions with corporation and civilian vessels, it seemed to him that many of the populace where unhappy with the leadership within Rheinland at the time. During the invasion by the Nomads, officer Schulz watched as elements of what considered to be the criminal underworld put aside their personal goals to eleminate the threat of the alien beings.
Following the end of the threat, Christoph gained a new appreciation for the Bundschuh, people he had once considered to be a threat to the safety of Rheinland had clearly been presented incorrectly by his higher ups. During patrols, Christoph would routinely patrol around Bruchsal Base in Frankfurt, in order to monitor the situation. In actuality, he was slowly gathering information about the Bundschuh's goals, to try to gather all of the information about what was truly going on in Die Vaterland. Following the Chancellor's unwillingness to legitimise the Bundschuh's status, and believing that the government were not taking the prior threat of the Nomads and the help provided by the so called terrorists seriously, Christoph left the RFP, by way of abandoning his flight wing, and jumping cruising straight towards the Bundschuh home station he had come to know so well.
Since then Christoph has worked to secure the safety of the group he believes to be the future of Rheinland, and although he avoids open conflict with the regular man as much as possible, his piloting skills as a former RFP officer have offered him many opportunities to improve the image of the Bundschuh, by breaking pirate attacks on civilian trade convoys, and even assisting RM and RFP forces in defeating Unioner and Liberty Rogue attacks wherever possible. Following the split of the RM, Christoph has been further split on his opinions of the future of Rheinland, however he hopes that the conflict will ultimately secure the safety of Rheinland for as long as possible, in a better, more open way.
Psychological profiling
What do you think makes us special?
The Bundschuh represent a non-legal faction that endeavour to more than plunder and pillage civilian transports. Working with the other houses is the best way to ensure the future of a better Rheinland people.
How difficult would it be for you to kill a Rheinlander?
Killing anyone is always difficult, as you can never truly know their situation. I would always rather try to solve conflicts with words rather than weapons. However assuming they are an agressor against someone who could not fight back, I would intervene to protect the weaker target.
What would you personally change about the Weiße Rose?
Seek to reach out to the other houses and showcase how we as a group only want what is best for everyone involved. Improving our image to the other houses will make weaken the imperialists' position.
Is there anything else you want to tell us?
As a former member of the RFP, attacking serving members of the police or military is something I am less comfortable with, as they have not necessarily made the decision to be opposed to us.

Die Weiße Rose Message received - 29-04-827 To: Christoph Schulz From: Oberst Maja Kurbjuweit Subject: Your application
Herr Schulz,
First and foremost, thank you for your interest in our movement and thank you for seeing beyond the propaganda you have been delivered in the past.
Many among us honestly served official, corrupt Rheinland before pragmatically realizing how much they had been lied to, which sparked their interest in the often absurd yet essential realm of politics. Your previous engagement as a policeman is eloquent about your will to protect our citizens, and in the end, we also pursue those goals here – especially lately. Your wise propension to favor diplomacy over violence whenever possible will certainly be highly regarded in our ranks.
I am pleased to inform you that you are accepted into DWR.

Biographical Information
Not much has been confirmed about the early life of Nahum Selinger. The service crew that attended Mr. Selinger upon his arrival at Bruchsal identified a stowed Azrael hand cannon, a rare weapon known to be of Liberty Rogue craftsmanship.
It is presumable that Nahum is related to Sam Selinger, an Astrocommunication Systems Engineer who previously worked for Ageira Technologies, and who was a known associate of Herr Von Claussen until shortly after the First Nomad Incursion. A Zoner collaborator reported that Sam was presumed lost after engaging a mercenary force in the Bering system while trying to defend an unidentified Rogue vessel, eleven years ago.
Blood test results are mixed; standard statistical analyses of the individual’s Y-DNA and mtDNA expose characteristics of ethnical groups from Bretonia, Rheinland, Hispania, Kusari, and Liberty. Hispanian and Liberty DNA characteristics appear to be slighly more predominant.

Psychological Profiling
What do you think makes us special?
-“I’ve been told that Bundschuh are good people in a bad land. The symbol of a white rose tells me about the land these people dream with, a better place than Liberty, Kusari, or Bretonia. A potential better place for families out here in Sirius.”
___
How difficult would it be for you to kill a Rheinlander?
-“I’ve never shot to kill, but killing is easy. Forcing people to eject into space is even easier, and much more desirable than making sure they die. I once had to use my gun to stop a ship from taking off. That’s a bit harder, and the reason why I received the handle name, Gunslinger. I'm not very fond of that moniker, though. My mother used to have much better aim than me. I think I got lucky.”
___
What would you personally change about the Weiße Rose?
"All Bundschuh should be practically neutral, at worst just unfriendly and at best just associated, to Rheinland groups, not Friendly or Hostile to any, except to Government factions that allow corruption and tyranny to thrive. Imperialist Rheinland Government factions should be the true enemies of the Weiße Rose."
(( *Bundschuh stance on most groups, from the original Bruchsal Base infocard:
<<The Bundschuh took the ideological high route, attracting the purists dedicated to overthrowing the corrupt Rheinland regime represented by the government, Daumann, and Republican. The Red Hessians adapted the more pragmatic approach of stealing and plundering in the guise of fighting the powers that be. As a result, the Red Hessian ranks swelled, and the Bundschuh dwindled.>>
<<The Bundschuh have always looked to the Unioners, LWB, Red Hessians, and disgruntled Republican, Daumann and Kruger workers for possible recruits. So they maintain a distinct note of neutrality towards the criminal groups, although they find the Red Hessian practice of indiscriminate piracy distasteful. They prefer to focus on Daumann, Republican, and military bases, although they do raid a ship on occasion for supplies, preferably Samura or Kishiro, as they have no more love for Kusari than the rest of Rheinland.>> ))
(( *Bundschuh stance on corporations, from the original Bruchsal Base infocard:
<<The corporations, though exploitive and uncaring, aren't truly at fault for what they do. Corporations are intrinsically self-serving; it's the government's role to keep them in check. As long as the government is corrupt enough to accept corporate bribes, the workers cannot be free.>> ))
"A white rose represents moral-purity and peace. Unlawful groups and corporations are not the real enemies of the Bundschuh. Many foreigners should also not be enemies of the Bundschuh. Within the admirable ranks of the Bundschuh, Die Weiße Rose Bundschuh should be recognized for their effort to be at peace with all factions except those who directly oppose those values."
___
Is there anything else you want to tell us?
“I’d like to look at the ships available to Die Weiße Rose right away. I learned more than just a few cheap tricks when I worked as an Engineer. I got tired of industry. Maybe I’ll start a business some day...”
(( Die Weiße Rose is one of the very few factions that do not presume to represent the entire NPC faction, so I admire its general concept and foundation. It has great potential for quality interactions and RP, but it would benefit from a more detailed political self-definition.
I also think that requests for broader ship and equipment options should be made. ))

OOC Application Section
How long have you been playing Discovery?
Since 2007, on and off. My Freelancer playing seasons usually last two months.
___
Have you ever been sanctioned?
About 12 years ago, I got sanctioned because a smooth talker sold my statements to the admin team as “rule-lawyering”; they bought the story, so I was fined and had my fighter grounded. I chose not to contest the sanction, and lost interest in the game for some time.
In recent times (after 2017), I was sanctioned on grounds of “attacking without Role-Play”. I did actually drop the warning in-Role-Play, so I contested the malicious report and had the sanction rescinded.
___
How would you rate your RP Skills from 1 - 10?
9, because I avoid writing on the forums so I procrastinate forum RP, and many people erroneously define “RP” as equal to “RP Writing in the Forums”.
___
How would you rate your PvP Skills from 1- 10?
8, because my aim is subpar, because I'm too lazy to use speed control to dodge, and because my ping (150ms to the server, which is in Europe) handicaps me.

Die Weiße Rose Message received - 30-04-827 To: Nahum Selinger From: Oberst Maja Kurbjuweit Subject: Your application
Herr Selinger,
We are happy to see that more people than usual are applying to join our ranks these days, most probably as a consequence of the current events, I suppose. I have been reading many original profiles over the last weeks but yours surely stands out.
Your motivations fit our values, and I can see nothing in your background that could prevent you from becoming a Bundschuhaktivist. However, may I seize the opportunity to warn you that you must never carry any illegal equipment should you fly to Liberty in the future. Judging from the information you provided and your past on the border between the two houses, I am sure you already know what I am referring to and the reasons why. In any case, you will soon be briefed about our activities.
That being said, you are hereby accepted into DWR. As for your request to look at our ships, you will be greeted by the Logistikabteilung staff at your earliest convenience. Your mechanical engineering skills would definitely come in handy there as well.
