This is an oorp updated description of my characters and feedback on both RP and gameplay is welcomed!
Although I never documented it all, I've kept RP going for the 3 main characters of Captain Antares' original roleplay crew. At the end of my last story, presumably, the crew not only split ways, but Antares provided each officer with his own Pelican. Each used that ship to build their own career as a captain. Each now has gone his own way, yet they still revolve around having been part of an original crew.
Captain Antares: Captain Antares is still puttering around Sirius, and still able to get up to his old game. His well armed light transport Argo is still holding together. His current beefs are dictated by the encounters he's had. His main enemies have been Samura, Republican Shipping, GMS and any Gallic entities, the Xenos and Agiera. He still considers himself an ardent Junker, whom he still seeks employment from at times. Over the years, he held memberships in both the Archangels Fighter Club, and Junkers Congress. After Antares disappeared for almost a year, those organizations fell into conflict with one another. Contact was lost with both factions. Otherwise, due to the Gallic war, he halted piracy attacks on Bretonian and Libertonian corporations, especially when inside house space, or near the Gallic front. However, inside Kusari and the Taus, he may stop to search any vessel. He may or may not pirate the ship, depending on its cargo and route. But if a vessel flees or is unresponsive, he will have to pursue that ship, as its his way. His main concerns are Gallic traders crossing Kusari, Rheinland trade with Gallia, and the state of the scrap trade back in Liberty.
Jonas Hudson: Jonas is of Bretonian descent, but mostly grew up outside House space. He lived on transports operated by his parents who shipped to various bases in the Taus. He wound up in Antares' crew, recruited at Freeport 10 where he had lived for years, after going out on his own. After years on the Argo, he left to get his own ship, and went on mirroring what Antares had started him out doing; raiding Gallic ships in the Taus. He took his Pelican, the Magna, got himself a Bretonian Letter of Marque and upgraded his little ship for some brazen privateering raids along the Tau embargo zone. He patrolled mainly from the Maquis's Charost Depot, down to the SEI Deltabase in Leeds. He fought to defend that base, engaging Royal Navy vessels for the first time, as it was highly useful safe port deep inside occupied Leeds. After the base was destroyed, and months more of frequent guerrilla raids on GMS, he found himself signing up to become an agent of the Bretonian Intelligence Service. He was able to provide a great deal of intelligence on Gallic shipping behind the lines to the the SIS and became one of their field agents. The Magna now operates as a support ship and observer in whatever area Hudson operates in. Hudson himself typically flies a snubcraft to quickly move around the battlefield, making fast interdictions of Gallic Royal Navy vessels, and any Gallic Corporate Traders attempting to cross the Taus into Leeds. He defaults to the Gallic front when not otherwise tasked by the SIS HQ with an immediate mission. With the recent incursion into New London, and action in Orkney, he has well frequented the front, and will continue to do so for the immediate future. Jonas Hudson
Morgan Rister: Morgan Rister was the older, more introverted deck officer on the Argo. He was the oldest, a man highly experienced yet always serving a supporting role on the ship. Having been well ready for his own ship, he made a perfect passive member of the group. Rister flew as captain of his own Salvager, as well as his own Armored Transport Starflare, especially after Antares had 'disappeared' for some time and basically withdrew from the Junkers Congress (and left his old Salvager with them). He conducted a few pirate raids in Kusari, then dabbled in Freelancing for a while inside house space. But Morgan started out like Antares, a Zoner from the Taus. Antares and Rister were all of Zoner descent, who freelanced or privateered to make money. So, Rister kept to employing Zoners from freeports as they traveled. Recently, Rister and his crew decided to pursue their Zoner roots, ditch their old pelican and leave the colonies to transfer over to a Zoner Fearless class destroyer. That ship design started out as a medium transport hull anyways, so Rister and the crew felt bypassing a gunboat to this kind of ship was plausible. The captain and crew pooled all they had saved for years to buy into such a venture. They now operate under a Zoner flag, and relocated to Omicron Kappa. Launching the Q-ship Starflare from Livadia, they plan to employ their knowledge of defending traders (and Risters' experience on the Argo attacking them) to work assisting local Zoner populations in the outer systems.
Morgan Rister: Captain Rister stayed in Bering for some time. Hope of a swift Zoner reclaimation of Freeport 2 quickly dwindled unfortunately. There was little to no support from any other Zoners throughout Sirius. What brave souls did show up to muster were a well meaning rag tag band of lone wolves.
Despite the well meaning efforts of some brave Zoners, the Unioners were particulaly aggressive to the presense of assertive Zoners in the system, and attacked the Militia at every encounter. With the contant pressure and collapse of any dream of exterior support, the Militia dissolved and scattered. The Carrier Tarrafal remains lurking in the vicinity of the Freeport, determined to keep the dream alive. But for most, the hour of opportunity had passed.
Regardless, with no where else to go, Rister lingered around the Tarrafal for months. His Q-ship however became less and less staffed as time went on, and no action or attainment of their goals lead to a lack of funds to keep the crew at full strength. There had always been his hard core crew, some were with him since they'd crewed a Pelican together after he left the Argo.
So instead of wasting any more time, he dismissed many of his remaining crew, took what willing officers he could, and sold his ship over in the Hudson system, and replaced it with a smaller, more easily managed craft, an Orca class gunboat, keeping the name Starflare. With no way to make any more income in the area, and little safety there for ships flying under a Zoner banner, he purchased a license from the Bounty Hunters Guild to fly and hunt for them. There was still plenty of chance to get in on some action back out in the Omicrons. Rister had fought out there in the past from time to time, against Nomads, and beligerent AI mostly. But it was far from the politics of the houses, and the Zoners, and it gave him and the crew a chance to go back to earning profit from escorts and harvesting Nomad remains.
With this plan in mind, he set back out for the Edge systems with hopes they'd have a little more luck keeping the crew paid, and not spend any more time hunkered down in hiding....
