The MM shared even the BH IFF-tag for a long time, since we have been verry close to the BH-Guild.
That changed during the time, since the MMs are not like the Hunters.
We only fight against targets that are included in our running contracts and we dont take random Bounty contracts. Only if they are verry special.
If a MM uses the BH shipline, we would never engage another BH ship. For that, we have the other ships. Nearly everybody has 2 or 3 ships.
During the 4.84, the MM moved a bit away from the Bounty Hunters, only beeing on good terms with them. We use their guns and equipment, since they are the closest Vanilla faction to the Mandalorian Mercs.
Now, with the 4.85 mod, we even changed our Tag to Freelancers, so we wont confuse anybody.
Flying around the Outcast space, was always a thrill, because lots of indies shot at us with yelling "DIE HUNTER!".
A few kept asking who the MMs are and what we seek in the Outcast space.
Working for the Outcasts for quite a while now, gave us a verry thrustworthy position, because we fought a lot of battles with the Outcasts, side on side.
Now to come back to our shiplist. As I said,w e have usualy 2 or 3 Fighters.
The standard Eagle ship, for the normal Mandalorian Merc.
And as an achievement to get, for the good work, we can aquire a bonus ship, like the Sabre.
Its like a big military badge for us, like an achievement.
We dont try to earn only money with the MMs. The faction is centered around the "honour in battle". The payment is a nice sideeffect.
And gaining a the thrust of a certain faction, is the most honourful present you can make.
Allowing to purchase a ship from them.
And as Virus said, the Sabre is one of the most used ships for the Freelancer NPCs, since its a reliable ship.
And thats why the Outcasts use it as their main ship.
Using a Sabre with Outcast guns, is like saying "Look I am a merc from Malta, living with the Outcasts"
Its a difficult discussion, since its always different who has the ship and weapons.
A random merc in a Sabre with Buckshots may be odd, but factions who work with certain other factions, should be allowed to roleplay their deals or contracts.
Of course it should be on long terms. Just saying that you are close to somebody, only because you want Tizonas, is simply wrong.
