All of the above have Navy and Police bases within them, and are only accessable via jumphole.
Please don't just make blanket statements.
Furthermore, there are some jumpholes which are clearly 'hidden', whereas there are some which have Navy and Police NPC patrols right next to them. The Ontario hole in Colorado and the Colorado hole in New York would be examples.
The whole "jump holes for pirates only and jump gates for lawfuls only" thing really winds me up.
With regards to blockading the system, It isn't really necessary to be honest. I mean... Pretty easy to work out who is a rheinland spy and who is not. It sounds like everyone already knew who this spy was, so stoppping everyone from leaving is a bit daft. Especialy given it's the starting system.
Calling the guy a 'lawful pirate' is also a bit silly, given he didn't try to extrot any money from you, which would be the definition of piracy on this server.

You can buy the info on jump holes in the bars of most stations. The whole "jump holes for pirates only" thing doesn't wash, especially when PIRATES LEAD LAWFULS right to them.

When I was a school boy in my country was "war state", Martial Law and all civilian rights were suspended. Each bigger city was blocked by army, tanks etc. But if you were civilian and you had papers well, you could go through.
Sometimes ago, maybe last year I was stopped by police, because the road was closed, they were looking for few bandits, police checked my car, my papers and then let me go. (when I was already home, I have heard shots, police opened fire to those bandits in my village).
If in the restaurant is a bandit, the first move of the police is to let people to go out of there to avoid danger. They never fight with bandits when is full civilians around. So please don't tell me that I don't know how blockades look like.
We all knew who was that spy, because of he talked in system chat. So, that police man could simply check my cargo, my papers and let me go.
I know what is Zoner neutrality and I never cover behind it. It is not matter I was zoner or not. I was civilian trader in transport ship. I am idded and tagged trader of faction that has the base in this system, so I am civilian belonging to this system. It is strange that zoners are liberty citizens, but it is not my fault, that zoners have base in the middle of Liberty with tradelane from police base.
I mentioned that to show, I am not trader from corporation which has headquarter in House that Liberty is at war with.
If I would be Republican trader, I understand I would be suspected, and they could shoot me because of their ID allows that.
I didn't have contraband cargo, I didn't have any lawfull or unlawfull pilots in cargo, I didn't try to break Rheinland-Liberty embargo, I was not in Zone21 area. I have stopped as he said.
I have read server rules, and I have read house laws, and I have read many IDs, and I didn't found that police players could set blockade rule "ad hoc" because of they want. I found this blockade as abuse of police rights and that was a reason I call them "lawfull pirate" and that was a reason I broke this blockade. I didn't found also that in the not guarded open system, cruiser can fire to civilian transport.
Another matter. If police knows exactly where are jumpholes, so they know where are bases of pirates, so why don't they simply destroy all of them one by one. Couple of cruisers can do it, we saw it in SP.
I didn't want to report anyone, I won't do this ever, who is completely innocent and never broke any rule? I wanted only clarify some my doubts about rules and conventions. It is not necessary to attack me or suggest that I am young silly newbie who knows nothing about RP and this server. I play here more than year, I read this forum. It was a LPI Gunboat and a Navy Cruiser if I interpret his story correctly.
Now then - The Navy know about the Texas JH in the Badlands - They even had a patrol guarding it in Singleplayer.
I would imagine that the NY Jumphole in NY is also known since they had a SATELLITE right next to it.
Also - While some of us know better... Calling most Police or Naval Officers a Lawful Pirate sometimes gets you arrested anyways or shot.

My post was a general one, and not directed at you, Tyro.
And well, yes, in that particular situation, when it's clearly known who the spy is, there's no need to block all passage for everyone.
But the situation I was referring to, a hypothetical one, was just it being known to the authorities that a spy was *somewhere* in the system, and that he was trying to escape, so he could be hiding on any ship at all leaving the system.
Don't think of anything as a personal attack, cause 95% of posts on this forum surprisingly aren't, it just seems such to people sometimes. It's not easy to convey feelings in a post written in two minutes.;)

This whole situation was not so clear for both us involved: me and that navy player. That is why I posted this story here. It is not about I was right or not. I would like to clarify situation, rules, conventions to avoid any problems in the future and for other players.
And sorry, probably sometimes I can not understand subtle nuances of language, and I can't write my feelings well.

To summarize the situation, a Rienland Unit was discovered in Liberty System. The unit had escaped from NewYork to the Penn System. I had taken Field Command of LPI and Naval units under Military Operational Procedures, and issued order of blockaded entry and exit point of Penn System. It is procedure to isolate the system, to ensure safety among the masses. A order had not been issued before the Zoner incident to allow access out of system. We had just successfully gained control of lockdown of Penn. System; and were in the process of identifying friend and foe and whether the Rienland unit was acting alone or was being supported by third parties. I had received a request from Naval Cruiser (I assure you, the vessel was of a Navy Guard ID) on what orders are for civilian vessels wanting to leave system. Before I could issue order to allow all civilian units exit passage, Zoner and additional vessel had run the blockade. I would expect this behavior from a Junker but from a Zoner I was very surprised. Neither the less, civilian safety was and is my priority concern.
We are not in the practice of shutting down Jumpholes and Jumpgates for pure amusement. It takes considerable time, energy, and resources to maintain such an operation. Not to mention hurts trade and commerce within our systems. In addition, hinders and strains relations with other factions.
I understand in trying situations such as this; tension is high and confusion is a primary factor. A little patience and common respect may avoid confrontations. I thank you for your understandment in this situation.
Result of Blockade, was isolation and destruction of the invading Rienland Unit. I wish to thank all Civilians for their patients and support involved in this matter.
