We now have the mess in the KNF dump...

Is it really necessary to spell out everything for people? Why can't there be a bit of mystery to an RP thread, where you have to figure out 'the language' to understand what is going on?

I see people writing things, then explaining them (Nadir did this with footnotes, others do the 'read' comment.)

If you have to explain it, then you didn't write it correctly in the first place. So what if some of your readers don't pay attention to some of the nicetes of in character writing? Let them figure it out.

Anything else is childish score keeping and tattlling that has no place in a good yarn.

i agree...both my and nadirs (type of) post were unnecessary. I was very angry when i saw footnotes, but i had no right to post there...i do apologize for it...
We all want for posts and reports in message dumps be honest and near the truth as they can be considering role play...we don't succeed every time and people get mad...learn from my mistake and resolve problems by PM or in game...

The OOC stuff in the KNF role-play thread has partly been amended and misunderstandings settled. Doom, I'm very sorry for the misunderstanding which were as much my fault as anyone's, if not more. As you say, it's a learning experience.

I certainly don't encourage any OOC but Freelancer has so many reality-defying aspects I'd be making up more fiction to cover the holes than I'm comfortable doing. In future I will TRY to avoid unnecessary OOC stuff and put that in a different forum. I'm a very experienced roll player and have played games from the original edition of Dungeons & Dragons (that shows my age) to the Whitewolf series of games (Mage, Changeling etc), MMORPGs etc, and I've written a lot of fiction over the years. Co-writing a fantasy/humour book, for example. Some of it wasn't terrible. Most of it was.:)But I'm getting sidetracked (my life story comes next week).

Now. I'm really getting sick of the proselytising that goes on here. Resistance to inventing lengthy fictions is just my play style - I prefer to react to situations and be a part of a larger dynamic - perhaps I'm still adjusting to the rather inconsistent game world FL & Discovery offers. Other people play differently and we all can say 'good for them'.

Hahahaha Super and Flyer no longer have...global chat but I DO!!! bwahahahaha....why? Because I don't abuse it...

As for OOC posts...some are necessary for giving orders...factions need more than RP even though that is the most important by far...they need sound solid orders so how about no OOC "crap" in dumps and threads?

Hello all,

Isnt there a way to make a seperate forum space for each faction (Iknow that would probably be a lot of work)? Then give permissions only to the members of that faction. That would solve 98% of all concerns about this topic.
