New Spash Screen

I don't really see the need for a new splash screen just yet. The one we have is beautiful (Although I dislike the 4.85 stamp, having that there means we'll need to replace it next version. And the stamp on the main menu's logo looks bad too...)

Original one is better.

I dont like the Font you used.
I dont like the Gallia Symbol you took there. Add some Glow, Shadows, etc.
First one the Planet looks really odd. And too many Stars.
Second one is okay, only Logo and Font.

If you made those Planetpictures yourself, then I'd like to know how.

To be honest the planet that is constantly on the left of both pics looks abit funny..like..a circle with squgglies..though on the second one the 2 other planets look quite nice.

If I may suggest something, you might wanna play with embossing things to make them look 3D..like the text and icon for example..its very simple to do and you may find it quite fun:)

Another thing I would like to add - I really love the difference between dark and light with the current discovery splashscreen. The ones that have been created - seem to have a little too much colour.
