Anyway- most of them only heard about the game a week before release. Ive had bookmarks on it months and months ago, ive waited soo long but guess what? *ahem*...*clears throught* aparently there is some feedback about how violent it is in the local paper (wat the hell ) that my dad saw. And now, they are considering not getting me the game for Cristmas.
Isn't there this one lvl you can skip, where you kill civilians and stuff. I know that can be offensive to alot of people who have memorys of 911 and other terrorist attacks. Right now im trying to convince them to buy it.
Im 14. I have never been offended by violent games or movies.
So tell me Discovery Freelancer (ha! Take that DDos hacker!!), is it violent, or too violent for someone like me? Is that the only violent lvl, that airport one? Tell me something I can relay to my parents to convince them its algud. :)
"shooting people" doesn't really count as violent. (the state of todays world *shakes head in dismay*)
I didn't like the idea of the airport scene really. The difference between killing innocent civilians in GTA (I haven't played GTAIV yet) is that when they die, they don't scream in panic or anything. They just fall down quickly like nothing happened and then blood spreads throughout the floor. Also, most of the time you only kill civilians in GTAIV for money or something like that.
in MW2, you had to kill pretending you liked a perverted cause. To me, it basically felt like an act of terrorism. I stopped shooting all the civilians after about 30 seconds and just shot in the air because I felt pretty bad after having killed them like that.

LOL :laugh:Are you trying to say that you aren't a terrorist when you pretend to believe in race hate and crime, pushed around by a gang holding up burger bars where you ultimately end up shooting the fat kid that works behind the counter in the chest with a shotgun after free-loading off the candy machine, shooting out the windows, doors and fire extinguishers then escaping in the stolen Japanese import while shooting at the cops tailing you?
I haven't played it yet, I still play Call of Duty 1. Its better than the other over-rated over done crap these days.
Battlefield 1942 is still the ultimate game in my book :ylove:

' Wrote:No, you dont have to shoot anyone untill the Russian Riot Police show up, Makarov and his gang do most of the killing. Plus, it does give you the option to skip it at the start of the campaign.
As for the general idea, i have no problem with it, but i see how some might, baisically, IMO, if you are not bothered by any other bits of killing, there is not much chance the airport mission will bother you.
BTW, MW2 is actually not a bad game, dont believe any of the people saying its just a load of crap, its rather good fun, especially the spec ops missions.
Just a quick thing I wanted to say about this: you can also skip the mission by pausing the game when you are on that level and hitting the "Skip" option. I think that is the only level you can skip though.
On topic, what difference does it make? I mean, if you really want to think about it, how do you like getting to kill people five feet away with a silenced weapon? Maybe your target was forced into the war and does not want to be fighting (or just have to sit their on guard duty). Maybe that person had a loving family, just like one of the civilians that Makarov and his men (possibly along with you) kill at the airport.
If you ask me, the point of "No Russian" was to show how war (and terrorism alike) is cruel, cold, and undiscriminating, and as much as I hate to say it, people die in war. Civilians die in the cross fire, people get upset about it, the media whines about it, etc.
In conclusion, just be happy we did not have to live in the 1940's.
