I use too cap 7 on GB, it may call me mad to pay 22 times more upgrade then ship, but it really does come in handy in combat..

Also for all other ships i use regular mk 8 armor..

Good point Mr_3ppozz, players have choice wich armor to have on ships

not here

the most id go to buy would be a a cap mk 7. but, since i had 2 bill spare, i decided to equip my most used gunboats with those mk 8s:P

any other gb i have, have a mk 6. and yes, good points made people.

hope this answers your question well:)

Now I see a good idea as normal VIII or Cap VI for GBs, cap VI for Cruisers, and cap VII for BSs. No less.. But that doesn't mean its REQUIRED to have a capship armor at all. If you want to have a BS with normal, and cheaper, VIII thats fine. Its not like we have a rule stating that GBs must use capship armor, or can't. If you have the cargo room to fit it, you can use it.

I agree with epyon too, in my case i have a gb with an armor upgrade, and sometimes it's an upgrade, despite is expensive for example the armor mk VII, that can let you win a figth.

As I understand it, the only limit on capital ship armor upgrades is the amount of cargo it takes up (300), so a gunboat can use it. Capital ships can also use fighter ones because they are called "Universal" upgrades.

If you want to use a fighter upgrade on a capital ship go nuts! If you want to use a Capital ship upgrade on a trader POWER TO YA! The only difference is that capital ship upgrades go higher, higher cost more, and they require shizloads of cargo space. Other than that GO NUTS! Fighter on a BS! sure! Do whatever you want in that department.

EDIT: Just relized my this is my old account. What the heck. Oh well. Whatever works ya know?
