Ditto.
I've got Netflix so I can rewatch all the Stargate SG1s, Stargate Atlantis, and the SGUs. I am pretty sure some of their other shows are on it too.
What killed it for me? SyFy just doesn't look SciFi ish to me. Looks like they are trying to be something they are not. Then you have all the stupid reality shows. Then the damn wrestling, soap opera for men. I'll pass.
We don't have that here on normal broadcast but on extra payment digital bla bla so I don't have it. I don't watch tv so no big deal but I love XENA @ Mike:D
Though SyFy sounds like a pinkish coloured ice cream brand with strawberry pieces in it.
Commercialism kills everything because everyone constantly tries to make more money.
MOAR IS **** is the only outcome I can come up with from this situation aka commedy.
Like many things started by large TV corporations, the focus of the Sci-fi was to grab a little extra cash for the company by focusing on the Science Fiction genre. (I remember when it was just a segment of TV1, used to watch it whenever it was on) Started off good to get people watching, then turned to crap once they withdrew funding in an attempt increase profit margins. Now its line-up consist of re-runs and cheap, F grade rubbish, people will stop watching, the axe will fall, and the better shows either moved back to TV1, or dumped into a less genre specific channel.
Not that I watch TV much any more, but where I in charge of the show line-up, I would dump all the rubbish, turn back the clock a bit and run some of the more decent, if older, sci-fi shows while looking for more funding for better quality shows. Replacing show advertisements with commercial ones would probably help with the cash problem if they don't leach too much of it into the company coffers.
Of course, the channel is probably already in its coffin, just waiting for a few more nails and a space in the graveyard.
