Well, to answer your question, I've got my trusty Zelot at hand.
Quote:[12:11:24 PM] Michael (Zelot): a thread bragging about how people broke the rules is not something that is off topic, it's about sanctions, it's not lulzy, and even if it was, it wouldnt stay that way for long.
[12:13:52 PM] Michael (Zelot): it is not something that promotes the behavior we want from members of this community.
So, in essence, that thread was shut down because it was lauding the violation of rules on both the forum and server. I would see that as sufficient cause to offer a lock.
But, hold on a moment! Let's just say for the sake of an argument that Joe was out of line there. I would argue that one incident does not an epidemic make. After all, we're all human and can make mistakes. I would then ask for evidence that this were an ongoing problem.
The moderation and administration teams, by nature of their positions, are willing to accept valid scrutiny. If there is something legitimately going amiss, please bring it to attention. What we're doing here is exactly how that back-and-forth should be, in my opinion.
Oh hell. I can't argue with that. *bows*
However, that is not breaking the rules at all. Lulzying out of the past, and I believe admiting and rethinking of mistakes might give more than dumping them in the deepest corners of our memory.
I, for example, digged up all of my sanctions, read them up, and understand how should I have done it differently to comply with rules.
Not for "You will be snactioned" though. That was legimate engagement notice!
Anyways, while it is not as ongoing as to be daily stuff, I simply saw it over months I've been here.
And since it is not only mine opinion as it seems, it gives a bit more validity to my raised point.
If Flood is said to be least moderated, then carry out such description. I would rather see OOC garbage removed from inRP threads, which is indeed breaking rules, breaking atmosphere and such.
Keep in mind too that Flood is the section that also faces the possibility of being wiped. There is only so much space paid for this forum. It's been done before. I have over 800+ flood posts that have been completely and utterly deleted from the last Flood wipe. So I highly suggest you don't get overly and emotionally attached to your flood posts.
