Possible server bug: Cargo released in space is dissappearing?!

Hi, today I need to transfer cargo from one my ship (char) to another (bigger one). Usually when I need to do this I release the cargo to space, dock, then undock with other char and attract it. No problem unitl today. I did it (2k units) but it wasnt here when I undocked! Nobody was here so it was not stealed. I docked, and try again only with 10 units. No problem. So again with 1k units, but cargo disseapeared. Really unpleasant, it was gold ore.

Few minutes later I went to try mining. One guy wanted 500 units. I mined them but when released, immediately dissapeared before he can attract them. So there was no logout but it also dissapeared.

Does anybody know what is this? Temporary bug? And what do to to prevent it? Thanks.

If you dock too soon, after clicking the button to jettinson stuff, it wont get released into space, but isnt in your cargo hold anymore; had that prob with Niobnium Ore often enough.

That method fails about 1/3 of times. The sure thing to do is to get the ships to different accounts, F1 with the first ship (watch that noone is near you) so it stays there besides the cargo for a minute. That time should be enough to log the other ship and grab the loot.

About disappearing cargo upon jettisoning - nothing to say, never heard such before.

generally the server deletes items and spawn if there is not another player within 6.5k of the object. sometimes it happens immediately, sometimes it takes a minute for the server to get around to it

Thanks for advices, it seems I was lucky, because I transfered lot of cargo by this method and until today everything was fine.

This hurts. I lost cheetah thruster and some gold ore so I lost around 35 million credist, but CAU 8 is really disaster.

Since gold ore is mostly found in mine fields, are you sure a mine didn't blow up the 500 units?

I am sure about the CAU8 that I wasn't near anything that can blow it/beam it. I always take it from ships on 2 different accounts so when I logged the second ship the first was still there but not the armour.:mellow:
