People are using, lets say, a Hessian ID to get their tech with no nerf, while acting nothing like "Hessians" in the process. That is all.
Solution? Sanction for 6.9
Yep.
50% of my point is that people are deliberately dodging the nerf.
The other 50% is their 'independent' status allows them to avoid adherence to their Faction ID.

That is where the issue lies.
The only way to combat it would be to clone 25 Hoodlums, give them a server police badge, and a really big stick,er,hammer.
Yea, that too. The Nerf makes an independent think twice about pvp against a full faction member of equal or greater stats because their nerf is an added hindrance to that battle.
It actually may encourage more Roleplay in the game to avoid the fight! Perish the very thought.
Sanctionlancer for the win it seems.
Sometimes, when all you want is to gain your freedom, you must be willing to risk it all.
in regards if the thing about violating the proper NPC faction ID, agreed, that things are to be sanctioned, NPC factions have advantages that are somehow balanced for inRP and rulewise limitations, such as ZOI, the docking stuff...etc, don't want limitations? (i'm talking in rules, not the nerf) use a generic ID, BUT to make people JOIN the factions by force... that's another matter..... that's the thing that will not be able.... and in case of reporting a 6.9, what will you say? he's not member of a faction?, they will laugh at your face, 6.9 are only for violations of the ID...
Pvpwhores and else will ever be there, with faction, without, and in any form you want to look for
Ever notice when you do something.. over and over.. and over. and notice how things are flawed and point it out that the current method to fix it seems or..demonstrates little to no correction the the problem?
People do this here. over and over until the pain gets so damned hard it's either quit for awhile or just.. surrender.
Im telling you right now.
Surrender.
no really. Surrender. Hold your breath..
Surrender. Let the warmth of complacency embrace you in everlasting peace.
Sanction lancing.. giving a damn.. leads... to the DARK side.
Seriously however. Since youve been here have you seen any real discouraging of power mongering and rep abuse thats been strong enough to stop it? of course not. even the powernerf is a somewhat more flawed idea as in Squeezing the fist harder and letting the greasy and slippery of mind to seek every possible way to get this or that.
People either do it via the rules, through minimal or maximal rp posts or "who you know".. whatever it takes to GET this to GET that.
Now it doesn't matter your going to ALL BE NERF even if your an ally.
All of this crap doesn't stop the fact.. Some dufus picks the right ship, pwns a handful of pilots. and thats all anyone new to the place wants.
That or to be left in peace until they can get a battleship to pwn everything. Thats all anyone new to the place wants.
If you want rp to trump the community standard and we all know what that is.. you have to set it up or do it with friends. OR hopefully stumble upon it by accident. Whitch can still happen but I know discovery will NEVER be a place where it happens regularly for everyone all the time.
Cause.. the minority.. us sick and depraved cybering roleplayer sheep are in the right. Right?
Placing some..ambiguous stronger "slap a Lul" penalty isnt going to Stop or curb their existence.
However the indignation and offence can be removed....

surrendor.
Very poetic in a kind of 60's, lets smoke this, what the heck did you just say kina way.
I do believe I play the only consistently 'good' freelancer that freely chooses to be lawful all the time. If you haven't noticed by now, I don't conform. I never will. I adapt, I work with, and hope it gets better. I will not surrender. The game play placed before me is absurd to the point where half-baked Roleplay is used to cover up the need to avoid a tech nerf and avoid adherence to the very ID used to dodge that nerf.
It's a blatant excuse to work around a rule.

Imo, as long as he doesn't violate the ID, it's fine.
There's no reason for an indie hessian to not to pirate IMG under any circumstances. They're bandits and terrorists after all, it's only natural that some among them wouldn't bother about morale or some treaties made by another group in their community, or even by their superiors. Usual "let's do it quick, make some good cash and hope that nobody figures out" stuff. Happens inRL right and left.
Don't like it? Request ID changes. "Can't pirate IMG", to reflect the "lore" (IF it's considered as a lore)
Like it was with Hogosha and Samura in 85.
He does something that totally goes against your ID, like helping Kruger to pirate IMG? Or allying sairs? 6.9.
Whats the problem here?
