She looked at the big pile of weapons stacked on the table,
''For me??" she said with a huge smile and sparkles in her eyes.
Then she took a closer look at the person on the other side of the table.
He looked beaten up , like someone who just got pulled out of an escape pod,
and been in there for a week.
"You... You are less tall then I expected...'' she mumbled.
She leaned closer towards him and whispered "I hope you can speak my language,
you look far too guapo to be a Junker or a Zoner'' she said with a smirky look on her face.
An old Corsair sitting nearby noticed the little show going on at the table,
and silently witnessed while taking another sip from his rum.
He whispered to Rick "Amigo, you need to put on some music si?''
''Well , we only have this ''omegas greatest hits'' album lying around...
I think the previous owners left it here on purpose.'' Rick replied.
"Don't be a bambino , play them some music!"The old sair said mildly annoyed.
"Cálmate hermano!'' Rick replied and he put on the music.
Meanwhile the couple in the corner were still staring at each other awkwardly.
''You are quite brave to go through all this trouble just for me chico'' she said with a mild smile.
''Don't be shy now, tell me what brings you to fall for a girl like me?''
She took some synthetic marijuana from her pocket.
''I have a little stash of it hidden on this station, might as well share my secrets with you,
since you've became one of em.''
She reached out her hand "Try some, I mean it , try some!" she said with a forcing tone in her voice.
On the other side of the bar Rick and the old Corsair fell into a total argument.
''What is this gringo music Rick!?!?!",
the old sair yelled while slamming his fist on the bar.
''I don't know amigo , You forced me to put it on!"
Rick replied with a shaky yell.
''You are a worthless excuse for a Corsair, playing this Hecian trash in your bar!!"
The old man yelled as he stood up and picked up his barstool''
''Don't you talk about my familia like that!''
Said Ricks cousin that just came walking in yelled from the other side of the bar.
''Yalalalala!!!''
Quickly , the moments before peaceful place turned into a giant pitfight.
Glasses and bottles flew through the air, barstools were hitting heads,
knickers were being twisted and noses were being cracked.
All of the people that seemed totally calm minutes before,
were now rolling over the floor beating one another with whatever they could find.
There were only two people in the bar that totally seemed to be ignorant about the crazy scene that was happening, supported by the Hessian record that was still playing in the background.
[font=Arial Narrow]Peaches smiled softly as she surveyed the pile of weapons he had brought out from his cloak. "Of course they are, my dear. My gift to you." He groaned as he picked up one of the smaller firearms and passed it to her. [color=#FFFFFF]"The best low-recoil pistol on the market. Cost a man his life to get my hands on one of those, but you're worth it."
He took an already blood stained tissue from one of his many pockets and wiped a small drip of blood that had been making its way down his cheek. He looked into her eyes and with a small groan whispered"I don't usually look like this... The Armed Forces mob were better equipped than last time... I... I'm sorry I was late. Thank you for waiting. I did have some flowers for you... But they were scorched by the fire in my cockpit." His gaze turned away from her for a moment and stared at the table at which he was seated. As the music started he looked up at the cause of it and then back down at the table. He groaned as he fidgeted slightly and then suddenly looked at her expectant gaze. "Since the first moment we met... You are all I have been able to think of. My mind has been so clouded, so distracted. I can't focus on anything but you. You're like a drug. So addictive. Your eyes were the things to seduce me... The way the gunfire glinted in them, it was beautiful. And your face... It reminds me of a sweet flower. So gentle." He blushed and looked at the table again, but this time when he looked up his eyes were full of pain. Not a physical pain, a mental one. "I... Uhh... Well... I... The last time I felt these feelings for someone... They left me with a broken heart... More than broken, it was shattered... I was dead inside. The minute I saw you... I... I felt more alive than I have in years..."
He looked at the small packet that she had produced from her pocket and gave as much of a smile that his injuries would allow. Any sign of his pain had now vanished. He stared into her eyes and with a soft, caring tone said "I want to be one of your secrets forever and ever... My heart is yours to command. And if you wish me to try some... Then I suppose a little can't hurt, can it?" With this he started laughing in an uneasy and painful way. He once again stared into those eyes he had fallen in love with. He was complete once again, even if it meant taking a massive risk and docking on an enemy station, she was well worth the risk and he knew it.
The stare between the couple was unbroken even when the commotion in the rest of the bar started, the music still playing, bar stalls flying this way and that. They kept a loving stare, almost as though looking deep into one another's souls. Looking at the real them. Finding out who they would be as a couple. He loved her, that was all that mattered now.
Deep in the shadows he watched intently, his composure unusually steady for a man of his age... Alvarez Santiago, newly accepted into The Brotherhood, had positioned himself to the side of the Baila and the hooded man, his ears listening while his eyes gazed elsewhere.
"Peaches" "Jack" The names uttered by the stranger were immediately locked away into the old Corsair's mind.
The Bailia and the man exchanged several more-than-friendly words just before the bar erupted into an all out brawl... With the distraction Santiago ducked out into an empty hallway, the commotion still in full uproar several rooms down.
Looking over his shoulder he pulled up a hand held data pad. With the two names in mind his search quickly brought up the image of a man... The expression on the old Corsair's face fill with realization and surprise, immediately covered up with determination.
