Stephanie Malaign decided to return, after reports of the prisoner she had captured was going to be tortured came to her.
'This.... isn't right....... I was one of the ones who captured her, and yet.... even though she is Order..... its not right..... Nothing I can do though'
She decided she might have to pull in some favours from within the LSF, just to lessen the guilt she would feel from it
The line where she was still listening to their sick and twisted ideas and ways, was far gone.If she was to survive and take her sweet revenge , something about the food and water problem had to be done. There was , however , only one option. It wasn't going to be easy , nor there where any guaranties that it would work. But this was the turning point of wich she had to try her best to get out of here alive.
There was some mind work that needed to be done , thats why the girl's eyes closed and she fell into a trance. The SA and LSF agent took that for an effect of the shock she was going thrue and after ten minutes left her alone in the cell.
The room was soundless. She could concentred only like this and all her attention was needed for this thing to work.
- = Back story = -
The creature was blue almost purple. It wasn't easy for a 14 year old girl to get a real life nomad to study. But , her connections ovet the past years were strong and the creature was now in her room where it wasn't that hard to study. Most of the Nomad's anathomy was already discovered and undestood by the Order.Access to that information was hard but not impossible. She knew these alliens like the back of her hand.
"Why should a small girl be interested in this knowege ?"
Mirage had heard that question over a million times before and every time the one who asked her was left with a false answer. But in thurh , the answer was pretty easy to spot. Loosing her arm had made her useless to the Order's ranks. Even with the most advanced of technology avalable to her , the machines were no where close to being perfect and it was still prohibited for a KKH-119 user , that was the newest mach. arm's model name , to be granded higher rank. Something that was not acceptable for her.
There was also something else that non of her "friends" knew. That blast did indeed take her arm , but after the explosion her mind was working at far greater levels then a normal human mind would. And after she met Xe'Dorj , the nomad that was on her table , she discovered another of the explosions 'gift'. She was able to comunicate with the creature. If word came out of that in the Order , she would probly spend the next 20-30 years as a research project.Thats why it was indeed needed to keep silent about that ability. Nomads comunicated thrue telephaty. That was well known by the Order , but as far as Mirage knew , she was the onl person that was able to comunicate with them withouth the use of host for the nomad.
Being able to talk to the creature was only good in words. There was little the allien cared for , exept killing her , wich wasn't possible bacause it was spending it's whole life in a 44 cm glass case. There was something that the creature was able to do , that she needed. Nomads don't build there ships , they grow them , literaly. Now , most people in Sirius alreadly knew that , but there was something else about those ships. They weren't just ...say...a grown pistol ..they are actually alive ...living creatures. The human word that she tought was suited for there case was ...animals.
Now , it was only basic math for her to know , that if nomads were able to grow powerfull ships , that were alive in the form of organic matter , it should not be a problem to grow a new arm for her.A far better arm then those mechanical things that were so heavy , that only a man was able to use them properly.
The nastly little nomad was , ofcource , unwilling to share that piece of information with her.So a deal was struck at that fatefull night.
The creature would provide her with what was needed for crowing her new arm , but it's brain was to be placed into the arm.In simple words , the nomad would morph into her new arm , just like it can morph into the organic ships they use.
Now , it was almost too clear to her that nomad was actually trying to infect her and then use her as it's host. But that wasn't going to happen....
It took 24 hours for the organic matter to grow into a perfect model of her old arm , only it was purple in colour.A problem that was easily removed with the use of human colour , un-removable sprays. The nomad's morph into her arm took a good one hour. But after it was finished , she fitted the new arm. It emidietly connected with the severed arteries, mustles and living ogranic matter. The "fuse" was painfull , but after the pain cleared. The arm was as good a new , obeying every command....the nomad brain gave it.That turned to be a problem , but after a heavy dose of tranquilizer the nomad was put into a state of letargy. The tranquilizer she used was later imroved into what she used today - *Kindriloariotinium Segrrii'sis*. The minimum dose was one pill per 3 days. After the nomad brain was out of her way , the arm responded only to her own brain's commands. It was a tough bargain , but in the end. She got wat she needed.
" - Yes..." - she tought. It was a mixed feeling , on one side - the nomad was awaken now , on the other - it could try to take over her body.
" - Xe'Dorj , can you hear me? " - She used her gift to try and contact the being inside her arm.
" - I know you can , just answer already. You read my brain waves , you can understand me."
" - Freedom...you...pay..." - The sound in her voice was like nails scraching a wall.
" - You should hear me out before you do anything we may both regret."
" - Mi..speak..death "
" - I can kill myself faster then you can take over my body. And we both know that if I die , you die. Like you probly know from reading my mind again , we are in some trouble here. And you know that I'm getting weak from starvation. If I die , what do you think those LSF would do with you ? Provide me with some food from your "ship" so that we may both survive."
It took sometime , but she senced some fluid entering her blood stream from her arm.
" - Thank you..."
She wasn't sure , wheater the years of letargy didn't cloud the Nomad's mind but it was very calm and relaxed. Not typical for it , but she prefered it that way.
"-Well....5 years on drugs mess up even a nomads brain " - she tough.
That was only one problem that was semi-sorted.The food from her symbioth was going to ran out soon. She needed to get out before that happend.
The only way she tought was possible was for Order forces to get her out , but that wasn't very likely to happen. There was no need to waste resoarces into saving one person , but.....she was valuble. Those LSF were rummored to have methods to take out information. And she knew things that were not for the eyes of the enemies. Maby a solo mission organized by Au'Rora staff...no..that wasn't possible. Her ship was probly in dry dock by now and sacrificing that valuble piece of technology for her life was not going to happen.
- "So here we are once again. You, me, and well, everyone else behind those fake mirrors and the door." Said Edwards right after entering the interrogation room, like if he was in a hurry. "A couple days ago, we have had a try to rescue some prisoners from one of our prison stations. Yes, im telling you this, strange, isnt it? And do you want to know why i am telling you that information? Easy. They didnt attack even this prison. And they failed. All they died. I know what you're thinking, that they could have ejected, and later recovered. Yes, they did eject, and yes, we did tow them... towards the nearest nomad we could find."
The skin of the prisoner's arm shaked, like if the hot stream of blood had abandoned it, after hearing such words. -"My idea about torturing someone else in front of you seems to not have given as much results as i expected. I guess you're really monsters, not caring about the rest of your kind. Not so strange seeing how little you care about your pilots sending them to suicide missions, but still.. somewhat inexpected".
Not a single word coming from her lips, not even a sign of hate or suffering. "These terrorists are really inhuman.", he thought. "We have one last resort to get something we look for from you. Well, it's not really the last resort usually, but i am already getting bored about your stubborness. You will talk, or die. And i dont actually care about which one you choose. I can just assure you it will be painfull, one way or the other."
For first time the prisoner noticed the case he had brought, and then he put it over the table which separated both of them. Opening it, a series of vials and a syringe were ready for use. "You see the two rows? the first vials, red, causes an horrible pain. After a certain dose, which we would eventually reach, it causes a multiorganic malfunction. Your lungs, liver, kidneys and heart would all fail one at a time, causing horrible pain and hemorrages." He grabbed one of the eight available red vials, and put it outside next to the case. "These, the blue vials, contain a very useful drug our R+D team has been developing. It, basically, makes you feel completely alone. Can you imagine beeing alone in the darkness, water covering your body up to your lips, without anybody around to help you, neither any way to escape? Or maybe you would prefer feeling the decompression around your skin, jumping out to the vacuum of space. We will soon see." He grabbed one of the four blue vials, and left it outside, next to the red. "Oh, and yes, the single transparent one. Guess what it can be? Oh, try it, surely you can guess. It is not so difficult, is it? I will give you a tip: It is my favourite."
- "The one which will free me from you, then." She replied. "Of course. And from everyone and everything else. Like the pain."
Beeing her tied as she was, that prisoner had no chance to stop the syringe aproaching her arm. The needle pierced her skin, reaching a vein. "Hmmm.. which one will we use first? As i said, i had certain preference for the transparent vial, but, as i guess we need to get something from you before sparing your life, lets use something different." The red vial appeared in his hand, and was plugged into the syringe opening. The stream of blood-like liquid entered her bloodstream. At first, she didnt seem to feel anything. A few seconds later, she began to convulsionate. If it wasnt because of the ropes, her limbs and spine would be all moving and contorsionating in ankward ways, possibly even breaking bones, and even the spine. But, of course, they couldnt allow that. Yet.
- "You know i had been nice to you. I offered you to get into arrest peacefully. You rejected all the chances i gave to you. Do you believe in god? any god? Look around you. Even if there is one, he would never come here to help you." - "Shouldnt.. you.. have asked me something before.. beggining this.. torture?" she managed to ask, painfully and slowly. -" Oh, really? I knew i had forgotten something! Well, that can be easily fixed now. Where is your base of operations? We know the aproximate area of it... but aproximate is not close enough. We want coordinates.". She could feel every vein, every artery, every organ burning from the inside. That drug stimulated all nerves, pain, pressure, and heat ones, allowing a level of suffering that, on first experiments, resulted most times in a deep coma from which the subject couldnt awake, or if he did, he would be as intelligent as a potato. Fortunately, scientists managed to do all that, and develop proteins to avoid the brain from "shutting-down" because of the overload.
- "We can wait here forever. Do you know the best part?" - he grabbed the blue vial - "I can do this even worse." He retired the empty red vial, and pluggled the filled up blue one. "Feel it.. feel it.. now... i know your pain... relax, close your eyes." She slowly obeyed, closing her eyes, needing for that a sobrehuman effort. "Watch out... dont you see where you are? look around you! you're in a crystal box! Only one metre in every direction protects you from that. Fire. Yes.. you will be burnt alive." She opened her eyes, but she didnt see the room. Instead, she saw a small crystal box, in which she was trapped like an animal. The bursts of fire coming from all directions, and crashing into the transparent walls that were saving her life, but, for how long would they last?" - "I can save you. Look up, look at me. I am offering you a rope, but i cant reach you." The man's voice suddenly became a scream: "They dont let me help you! Tell me where those Order live, where do they build their ships, and i will be able to save you!" She looked around herself. The glasses were slowly vanishing, in some places, there were holes, allowing the heat to lick her skin. She had no chance to escape, if she didnt tell that man what he wanted to know.-"Its only a few numbers... only a couple numbers and you will survive! no more pain! no..." The man looked strangely upwards, to the "sky", which in the real world she was separated from, was the ceiling. The lights blinked, and then turned off. Red emergency lights were turned on, and a shake reached that room. In her own current universe, where air was fire, and her salvator had vanished up there, beeing replaced by a red glow, the shaking could only mean the crystal had broken, and the fire was burning her flesh. In the real world around her, the situation was different. "This cant be good", Edwards said, while reaching the door, seeing everyone running everywhere.
Then, what he feared happened. The speakers of the station sent a broadcast:
"Station under attack. All units to battlestations."
The pain was unimaginable , it was not possible for a mere human to survive such harrific exposure to the - pain senstation. That was something she hated , Mirage hated being "just a mere human". All those years of reasearch were spend for nothing , if she was to die here.
"You truly pathetic are creature" - The voice in her head was one she recodniced.
She tried to enchance her telaphatic ability's to answer him , but she was too weak and the pain did not alow her to concentrate. Why was she hearing him more clearly now ?
"Mind finaly weak I take over" - That was the one thing she was worried about most. It seemed that during her stay in this hell hole her psychotronic defences were now breached and the nomad was free to take her over. But that was impossible , Xe'Dorj should't have been weak by now. Even if she knew what was going to happen she was helpless to stop him from taking her mind.
Mirage felt purple fluid pour into her vains and slowly go for her head. There was no psysical way the nomad could enter her spinal cord , but it seemed that it had...other methods.
>>>Outside the Prison<<<
"This is indeed a very bold move , sir" - Commander Deos was explaning to the current Au'Rora's commander - replacement captain Savoy.
"I tough we will not speak of this matter again. Mirage's department is highly needed by the Order , her reseach so far has proven it's value. And we cannot affort to loose her this way."
The ship was stationed 20k away from the prison.Suddenly ten little probes shot like bullets from it.They reached the prison station in less then a few seconds and deployed themselfs , each at 5k from the station.
"Send the jamming virus" - Savoy ordered.
"Yes , sir"
*Transferring all avalable power from the core to the "Jammer" "
"Core temprature....stable"
"Cold fusion reactor at maximum capacity*
"Sir , we have began the transmition of the virus to the prison frequences" - the officer near the onboard computer informed the captain.
*Virus loading...23%...53%....85%...100%*
*Stations scanners are being jammed*
>>>back to the prison cell<<<
A red alarm light was flashing over the LSF agent's head.
"What's all this about?" - he asked himself.
*The slide door opened and a little "beep" from the computer cried out"
Three men entered the room. They were with LSF uniform and one of them spoke to the LSF.
"We have orders to escort this prisoner to a ...safer location. Please release her , now!"
"This is not possible , she is scedualled for execution. Ah...I new you had spies here"
The three men were slow to pull their weapons first. Mike had his gun up against them first. And alowed himself a little smirk.
"Now now , this reads "promotion" all over it!"
Her mind was struggling , both the effects of the venom and the nomad's assault.
"Get out of my head ....." - her telephatic link with Xe'Dorj was getting stronger , wich ment he was getting closer to her mind.
It was useless , there was now way she was able to hold on a battle on both sides.
The pain was gone , she was ... emotionless. It was a float feeling . Mirage was surrounded by nothingness , like a bad dream wich wouldn't end with a mere .... pinch.
Her eyes glowed purple. The chains were quickly torn apart by the enchanced strenght of her body.
The creature stricked Mike and he was rendered uncountios.
"Admiral...?"
The three Order agents took out there weapons and pointed them at Mirage.
"Answer us now ! Don't make us shoot .... "
There was no point in discussing the manner with the infested Mirage. The Order pilots face was now smashed by her arm. The other too fired at her , but the body of the first agent acted like a pretty good shield. And seconds later , there body parts were scattered all around the prison cell.
"You cannot escape without me ... and you know it!" - Now that the pain was gone Mirage herself was able to use her gift to contact Xe'Dorj.
"Human you are weak you body mine!" - It was strange , she expained the phenomenon with the pain factor , bacause of the emence psysical and psyhical pain she endured her telephaty was enchanced to perfection and she was able to hear the nomad clearly.
"Not for long...." - Mirage concentrated all her avalable psycotronic abilities to counter the nomad's influence.
"This not possible! Humans ...weak!!"
"I'm not human...not anymore"
It was like exiting the darkness of an abyss. Her eyes oppened and had control over her entire body , again. Her mind had proven too strong for the nomad to handle. There was no pain left , her body was as new and her mind was operating faster then ever. Her eyes focused very fast and infront of her there was another Order agent who was talking to her with gun pointed at her skull. It seemed Xe'Dorj was able to travel all the way to the escape route...but how did he know where to go ?
*Is she herself again , how will I expain this to HQ , should I shoot her ? * - These thoughts stormed Mirage's brain like a thousand needles.Where were they coming from , what was going on. She looked at the Order agent , his weapon was still pointed at her and his finger was begging to slip.
"I'm..ok...I think..." - Those were the only words she could say. There was too much comotion. The red lights of the alarms were flashing all over the place.
*Is she lying ? What should I do ? I can't kill an admiral...can I ? *
"What did you say ?" - She was confused and she looked at the man's mounth.
"I didn't say anything. Are you feeling ,ok ?"
*She is not making any sence...I should probly kill her*
"No don't kill me , I'm fine. Drop your weapon"
"How did you know I was going to kill you ?? Thats it ... I'm sor..."
Before he was able to pull the trigger , her arm pierced thrue his chest. The nomad grown arm had several times the strenght of the human arm. The agent quickly died and fell lifelessly on the ground.
"I wont be killed by some maggot!"
<<< Onboard the Au'Rora >>>
-=Two minutes later=-
"Sir , there it is. Our fighter is coming this way."
"Just intime too. How long until they get their sensors running?"
"They just did , sir. I'm picking up bombers launching from the prison station"
"Open the docking bay , take her in and then get us out of here"
"Sir , about the diversion?"
"Yes...do it now"
>>> Main control room on the LSF prison <<<
"Our sensors were jammed. It seems one prisoner has escaped. Mike is going to be allright , but there are four bodies ... scatter all around. Our bomber wing detected a Battleship near our location. They are going to intercept it now."
"Good. Continue with the operation , I want that ship destroyed!"
>>>Au'Rora's brige<<<
"Sending data to the probes..."
"Codes accepted"
>>>LSF prison staion<<<
"This ... is impossible!!"
"What..whats wrong?"
"I'm reading ten Osiris battleships de-cloking near the station"
"All bomber wings return to defend the base!"
"Roger. Vector locked in . Target sighted. Firing torpedoes"
Close to twently torpedoes were launched at the closest Osiris. The warheads just passed thrue the ship and exited on the other side. With no apearant...
"..damage , sir. There appears to be no damage to the ship! Whats this..."
"Why aren't they firing at us ? "
"Idiots...those are hologram projections !!!"
"Where is the Au'Rora ship ? "
"It's ... leaving our long range scanners , sir."
"DARN IT ! YOU ARE ALL FIRED !"
>>> Onboard the Au'Rora <<<
Mirage rushed to her private quarters. She entered her room , neglecting all attemts to check her health and greed her by her felow crew men. There was it , the little white pill that was going to get that pest our of her mind once and for all.
"Before do you that know this I know happend to your...father. Why he when he died"
She was just about to take the pill when she froze.
"My father...?" - she sended the message to the Nomad
"What do you know about him? "
"You strong I cannot take control no more we may benifit both from this"
Her entire carrier was making her to take the pill and forget about the nomad , but .... her ambition and lust for power was stronger. She needed to know what happend to her father , what was his research about. Also , those new "skill" will surely come in handy. After all , her main goal was to find *them* and finaly become more...then just human.
// Thanks to all those who took part in this RP. I will take this opertunity here to further develop my charecter.
