I used to play a smuggler on Asgard, and later I played a smuggler in another mod (That one was fun...had dual thrusters on a dromedary...) I think a 'head honcho' figure for a legal front is right needed. If 4.87 goes the way I'm praying, the freighters will continue being loveable and useable. Ontop of that, a liner or large transport could be a 'head figure' for the legality of it.
Yeah, I'm hoping carriers/fighter bays are rebalanced slash made useful. That way a transport or liner could actually be put to use. Especially liners...The Enterprise or Shukensha is a wonderful ship.
If you make this an official faction, I'm going to be drooling. The fact that there could be smugglers actually organized and not just a couple of pirates deciding to haul unlawful goods....its exciting.
QUESTION: Would there be any sort of loyalty? To expand: If the primary stomping ground for the operation is from the 'sairs to liberty, maybe Liberty being around has some importance to the group. To that regard, would they work with the navy/lawfuls against say, rheinland or gallic incursions? I'm curious...as I could see some profit in that. Especially if they pay for...pilfered goods.
It's certainly my aim to get it official, representation is everything and smugglers have been lacking in that department though not without a lack of trying. It may be a dream of a mad man but I'd also like to get our own ID and make it open to replace the disaster that was the smuggler ID.
As for Loyalty, we'd do our best to remain neutral our fragile diplomacy would demand it. That doesn't mean we wouldn't play the two sides against each other for our profit.
I think this would be a fun RP. I'm having a hard time right now deciding if I want to go Outcast or Corsair with my own RP. Definitely interested in this. I've played full lawful characters for far to long.
I'm glad you're interested hoojoe, the faction will be posted sometime today so feel free to join up!
Ships docked in docking modules can't be scanned, we can't get a transport large enough to use them with a FL ID but that is certainly an interesting idea. If we ever manage to get our own ID you can bet we'll be using it, thanks again Coin.
Edit: Summer has just reminded me that prison liners have the docking bays however I think it's a bit beyond the limits of our RP to have a prison liner being used as a cargo ship.
